Frankly, I don't know what direction Oku is going with this manga...

i think it's because there are too many aliens now and gantz can't hide them all so he's like f* it

My best guess is that the timer was there so the vamps couldn't find them (gantz time limit of how long he can make them invisible). But now that they can find their frequencies, there's no point in making them invisible anymore.

Not a bad theory, but that would actually mean Gantz is trying to protect them. That fact alone makes me skeptical.

Before, aliens targeted for hunts had a certain frequency that only gantzers could see. The "last boss" on the oni incident was of normal frequency, so gantz adapted to that frequency of its target. Likewise with the upcoming aliens, they were visible to humans too.

Gantz can only control gantzers frequency, not the aliens'. we can agree on this basis...

Unless of course, Gantz created the aliens and have complete control over both frequencies. Just a theory.

No reader is able to explain why Gantz is constantly changing the rules. For example, missions up till the Ring aliens have kept the players a secret from civilians. We realize the civilians can see the players while the team is fighting the Oni boss. Gantz's action to expose the Tokyo team contradicts what he's been doing since the first chapter; which is to keep everything a secret.

It should be added that the Ring Alien mission really indicates against deliberate revelation on Gantz's part—just being caught on film is enough to cause Gantz to blow up a Gantzer's head and trigger a second mission against the photographer.
