A question about the suits

I'm sorry if this has been posted before, but I didn't see this in a previous thread and I am really curious.
**Spoilers, I guess?** The Osakan suits do not seem to working at all during the current mission. During past missions the suits protected the team from EVERYTHING, including blades and such(i think), and only stopped working when the holes started leaking. During this mission, however, the suits don't seem to be doing their job. Almost the entire Osaka team has been massacred because of this, and none of their suits seemed to be leaking, they just fell apart. Does anybody have any ideas or theories as to why this is occurring? Is it just because the aliens are causing too much damage in one hit? |

Don't you remember Katou's arm being sliced right off in the Buddha mission? What about Izumi's suit being slashed open in the front during the Dino mission? There are a lot of occurrences such as the ones I just mentioned. It's not just this mission; the suits have always been weak against blades. Everything has to have a weakness after all; it just so happens that blades are the suits. That's really all there is to it. If you have any more questions concerning the suit, you can PM me for the answer. In fact, if you any questions about Gantz in general, PM me. I’m always around. Therefore, I should be able to get back to you in a decent amount of time. That goes for everyone. I'm willing to help answer any questions you guys might have concerning Gantz.

As MGB mentions, there are a number of incidents of suit-penetrating attacks. Many-Armed Buddha's lantern-laser, sword, and acid spray all went right through the active suit. The Shorty Aliens were able to tear off the suit's arms before it deactivated as a whole. The Fire Oni's attack burnt through active suits, and the Shapeshifter Oni was able to bypass it by crawling into a wearer's mouth and expanding. IIRC this is the largest concentration of suit-defeating enemies we've seen yet (not counting the Tanaka Aliens, who strictly speaking didn't bypass the suit—they were just able to destroy it really, really quickly), but we've seen this ability before.

Not really. The Greenonion Aliens were clearly weaker than anything else we've seen, but the Tanaka Aliens were meaningfully more dangerous than the Ring Aliens, and the Buddha Aliens were debatably stronger than the Bumpkin Alien and his buddies.

Your post implied that the aliens have gotten stronger since the beginning. I noted that, although the very first mission was extremely easy, the difficulty since then has not been steadily increasing. Unless you're arguing that they "leveled up" in the last two missions, the evidence is mixed. If you are just talking about the last two missions, I'd say that that's not nearly enough to draw a trend from.
The Tanaka and Buddha aliens were the second and third mission targets, for reference, so there's no real way that "the crap ones they used to feature from beginning" can reasonably not apply to them. ~J

It would be nice if we had some kind of timeline to see how frequent the missions are like if its once a month or every week a new mission comes along. I think the Aliens range from easy to hard depending on the person really I mean I remember that one mission that was really short but it was just an Introduction to the Tae Kojima mission that lasted considerably longer.
