Thread: Gantz 255 Translation

^This chapter was awesome. Its a good chapter that youll appreciate when the next chapter comes out because Oku is building to something. Especially with Kyou's badassness in the missing pages.

I'm sure this won't be the last time we see the Osakans. I think that their roles will soon be a much bigger part of the manga. In fact, I think they may even get their own stories outside of Gantz. This mission has placed them in the spotlight as main characters; this arc is mainly focused on them after all. I don't think Oku would waste an entire missions worth of character development on them unless he had plans to bring them back. As to your prediction, you've got to remember there are still over 600 points to be earned… Anything can happen. By the way, I tallied all of the points up after reading Kyou’s explanation of how they are scored. Does anyone want to take a guess as to who is in the lead? I’ll give you guys a hint; it’s not the HS.

^what's your basis for scoring up the points. Because obviously, we haven't seen the amount each person has killed of the lesser aliens. There were hundreds to begin with and now the only ones left are the pregnant ones, so Oku mustve not shown every alien death.

It was kinda disappointing for me too but it just left me wanting to see what happens next badly. I think Kyou is gonna die...

If Oku decides to keep the Osakans, he'll have to maintain a cast of over 20 characters depending on how many of em survive plus background characters. I think it'll be great having Kei back but I just don't see the point of having him come back right now and if they score 100 then that's the smartest thing to do. Obviously he's better than the weapon and freedom isn't the best choice either. As far as the scoring goes, we haven't seen if Nishi or Oka got any kills. Man, I can't wait to see Nishi in action. Maybe he'll get some respect after this mission is over.

Oku could just kill off a bunch of characters in this arc. Most people would agree that it's illogical to make such a powerful team only to be killed off just like that. My guess is both teams will merge and do missions from now on making it possible to develop some Osakans such as Anzu.

New team roster:

- Oka
- Katou
- Host Samurai
- Kuwabara
- Kyou
- Nishi
- Kaze?

The only females that I wouldn't mind staying are Reika, Anzu and Nobu's chick. Nobu and George seem expendable to me. Only need to develop those characters from the roster I made and possibly the girls.

^I'd be happy with that plus old man and the females you mentioned.

I don't mind the Old man staying awhile longer, but ever since Kurono died, he hasn't been the same. I'm also wondering if Kaze will die soon. I just can't think of a way for him and Takeshi to leave the room together in peace. The flashback during the fight against the big alien could be a foreshadowing to his death; presumably by protecting Takeshi.
