Thread: where the anime left off

I just wanted to ask which chapter did the anime finish because I want to read the manga from there. thanks for the help ^_^

Don't do that. Trust me, read the Manga from the beginning.

The Anime has a completely different story starting from the beginning of the Buddha mission. Everything after is made up bullshit. Infact the whole Anime has a completely different tone to the Manga.
For instance, Kishimoto is completly repulsed by Kurono, none of that, "your cool, but in your own way!"

Around chapter 90, but I'd recommend reading from the top on general principle.

Edit: from the beginning of the Buddha mission? Aside from the diversion about the hobo-killers and the obnoxious book references, the Buddha mission was still pretty faithful.

so I guess it would be better for me to start from the beginning... well I guess it would take me a day to get to chapter 90 since summer holiday just started. thanks guys ^_^

That's true, but in some cases the characters were a big improvement in the anime over the manga counterparts. Like the biker Tetsuo, the aforementioned Kishimoto. Kurono IMO was worse in the anime than the manga. But yeah, the anime is good to watch through at least the 21st episode, as it sticks pretty close to the manga through that point.

Even though I prefer the manga over the anime, the last mission wasn't as bad as its made out to be. I liked some of the characters but mainly Nozaki and that kid taht killed the hobos. I just see it as a side story kind of thing.

The last mission is appalling! People making stupid and illogical moves. The characters were no doubt cool, but the execution of everything in that mission was terrible. The only thing I liked was the no time delay on the gun.

I agree with What Scriver said. I made a post a little while ago about how the Anime expands on the Gantz characters, and some things I do prefer.

true but I didnt like the way the anime ended I think the director could have done better.

Here I go to defend the anime again. I think it was great up until the Kurono alien mission. It's a classic that must be continued in my book.

Yea I see what you mean Tet, but I still liked Nozaki and when Kurono threw that girl out of the window. I found that part very amusing.
