Nishi vs. Izumi

Character-wise, which do you prefer?
I think Nishi's weaknesses, youth, history, you know, everything...just make him a more fleshed out character despite his smaller screen time. You see his humanity in the Tanaki mission.
Izumi on the other hand seems to be a 2D "I AM SUPER EVIL AND STRONG LOL I AM GANTZ VEGETA" character, without the compelling elements of Nishi's sort of apathetic social darwinist character.


Also, I don't get the deal about people making fun of him crying...I mean, he's a middle school kid who just got his eyes and eardrums blown up, is dying a horrible painful death in total agony, and was ten points away from 100...Yeah, he's crying. Maybe a 2D character like Izumi wouldn't because he's "LOL IM A HARDCORE EVIL VILLAINZ DUDEDDD", but give me a break...of course Nishi would cry for his mother...anyone would.

Right now I prefer Izumi simply because he's had more character devopement. I like the idea of of Oku making a spree killer and a complete prick one of the toughest guys in the manga without any quick turn around to good guy.

Nishi, I like because he's up front with his contempt and arrogance. Every Gantz team needs it's resident asshole. I look forward to him getting some developement.

Even though Nishi and Katou are just another version of Izumi and Kurono, the fights between the two should be interesting. Izumi and Kurono were rivals and all but Nishi and Katou really pushed eachother's buttons.

Yeah, it really pisses me off that Kurono never just beat Izumi's ass. He was the stronger Gantzer, regardless of all of Izumi's flashy moves and 2D evil characterization.


For all of his strength, Kurono barely ever did the "Shonen Berserker" thing that so many characters in manga do...Naruto, Ichigo, Luffy D., Goku, etc...The whole, "I May Be Overpowered But I'm Super Angry Right Now So I'll Kick Your Ass Bad"
After Tae died, he just...sat there...
I just WISH he'd gone Shonen Berserker and friggin' kicked Izumi's ass...If not Izumi, at least fucking kill Izumi's groupies, like the cowardly guy and those gangsters!

mmmm... Is it really a bad VS thread if its about our character preference not about who could kick the other's ass?

No Izumi was the best gantzer. I'd say its Kurono but after seeing Izumi single handedly kill all those vamps you have to give him credit. Kurono would have died. When the story is over Izumi will have the most kills whether its humans or aliens but then again theres Oka. As much as i dont really like Izumi, I say he's the best. I wanted Kurono to whoop his ass too.

Yeah, he might have been crazy. Yeah, he is a damn killer. But hey, he had lost quite a bunch of his memory. Kurono ignored it once he was out of gantz, but if he had started doing questions to himself and hadn't been killed, he might have ended crazy too.

Your craziness may make you run around the town naked, become a killer, focus on a damn thought... prety much anything, even a combination of a bunch of things. We never met him before entering the gantz room the first time, you know, so you can't simply say he's the worst asshole ever xD
