    Doesn't this confuse anyone else?

I mean Gantz is published in Young/Ultra (can't remember which one and don't feel like checking) Jump. All Jump manga magazines are owned by Shueisha which owns Viz Media which publishes most Jump manga in America.

Why would Viz/Shueisha let somebody else publish what they should probably have the exclusive rights to?

I'm not complaining I'm just wondering...

I'll be buying Gantz as soon as it's published.
Not to mention Shaman Warrior widely known as Dangu. Manhua, go read it. there are only 4 volumes scanlated, the group stopped after DH started releasing. Definitely should be on your list of ones to buy. Check it out.

    So MPD has been published...

From what I know, although they run under the same name they are still different organisation's, run by different people trying to make profit. Like how we have Sony Japan, Sony Europe, Sony America, and so on.

Either that, or because Viz does not publish violent Manga, they sold the rights to Gantz, so fans of the series could have these great titles.

Yes but those organizations are all part of the same corporation...

And Viz published Battle Royale, I've never read it (I might get to it sometime) but I've heard that it's pretty graphic.

They published the book, and it's extremely graphic. Tokyopop got the manga.

    Read the book. It's amazing.

Okay. I was just looking at the Wikipedia article and it was listed under "Anime and manga distributed by Viz".

Well I have all the books, and I see the despicable Tokyopop label plastered all over it. Wikipeda once thought that the Vampire who Izumi killed in the town was one of the leaders. Sometimes I hate that place.

Ill look into why different Jump Manga gets published by other publishers.

From what I have heard Viz has first dibs on anything Shueisha, but if they pass on a property, anyone can enter the licensing arena.

I'm guessing that's what had to of happened with Gantz.

I'm not sure if what I heard was true or not though.

Yes I know that. It has already happened before. Take Tenjou Tenge for example.

My question is why they would want to do that in the first place?

Yes, this is great news! Dark horse has the best covers (Check trigun max) and they keep the jap ones intact! I'm happy.

Wikipedia rules some of the time, but the Gantz page isn't that accurate.
