Hahahaha, what did that mean? I guess you weren't exactly able to understand it either.

I think Kurono does owe Sei a revival just like Katou owes Kishmoto.

I agree. Kurono was definately not showing off. Life just got him down and he didn't know what to do so he wanted to take his mind off his troubles. I didn't think he was showin off at any point because that is the dumbest way to wanna show off. He was just crazy. He didn't really care about dying but he wasn't gonna let anything stop him.

Maybe you're right but Sei did not save Kurono's life. If 1000 arms wanted to kill him, he'd be dead which makes it look like there was dramatic favoritism in that mission. There's no doubt that Kurono is very skilled but there was alot of situations where he should've died but didn't. And I don't think Katou owes Kishimoto either. She was wearing a suit, she could've knocked him to the next side of the room if she had to but she stood in front of him. She died because she didn't think, so it's her fault. The only reason he should revive her is cause she loved him and basically, she's a hot girl that loves him. That's not so easy to find but then again, it's easier than gettin 100 points. Kishimoto is a fanfavorite so I doubt that she won't be revived.

There were like 2 Izumis and Kuronos (personality wise) so if they do get revived, I wonder which one or ones it would be. Guess we'll have to wait to find out. Imagine Kurono having to fight in one of the later and tougher missions with only his memories before he came into Gantz. That would be fun to watch. I understand why people desperately want Kurono back now, I just don't see Katou ever leading any team and Reika doesn't seem fit to be a leader. Nobody on the team does.

In Izumi's case I would think based on how things are working, that he would come back as a combination of the two, with both his original memories and his memories from his return. It would make sense as technically both are in the bank, unless of course you can choose which one to bring back. Something that would also make a lot of sense. As far as Kurono that is a more difficult thing. Would it be Kurono the first, who only knows about his original death, or would it be Kurono the second who bested tons of aliens? I happen to think that Kurono would return in a manner similar to Katou in that the memories would be from the last mission he was on as that was the case for all the people who were revived, Nishi didn't return in his original version from his first year in. So I think Kurono will return the same way.

As far as leadership, yes the manga is sorely missing Kurono. First the whole meeting with the Osakans would have gone easier and they probably would have combined forces. Second Katou would know exactly how they are operating as a team, since Kurono would have informed him while they were out. Lastly, Reika and Katou just whomp donkeys as leaders. And I blame Oku! He set them up as characters not worthy of the leadership role. Reika was constantly 4th or 5th in line for leader depending on how you look at it. Clearly Kurono was 1, Izumi was 2, the old man was 3, The Obi Wan Kin Obi of Telepathy was 4 mostly and Reika was 5. When Izumi was gone she moved to 4. Why she is leading the team spouting that crap about not reviving people is beyond me. Kurono has saved those ingrates more times then Izumi looked menacing.

And Katou? Well until Katou's "boys" descend and he realizes the truth of the situation, that he needs more that the y gun and that saving the people not involved should be secondary to defeating the aliens, he isn't ready to be the boss either. I understand his goal, I appreciate his goal, hell I'd want to share in accomplishing his goal, if he only went about it in a more tactical and realistic manner. The people can now see the aliens and Katou. If they are being attacked go and start battling the thing and tell the people to get out of the way. he isn't talking to the aliens, so he should be telling them were to go, if they need to get help, or where to find another person in the same suit as his so they can lend him a hand. But he isn't and why? Because Katou lacks in the realistic applications of leadership.

Please don't bother. Simple rule: If it wasn't in the manga, it doesn't count.

.....I don't know about Sei. If they keep reviving people... I don't know. They should just revive whoever is important and who can help out.
I meant... what IF the bombs in their heads actually would go off, instead of the pts reseting to 0, if they didn't kill the target(Tae) in time, would Kurono still have done the same thing? Plus the Old man was on the verge on dying too.

Yeah, it wouldn't make much sense story-wise, talent-wise, and whatever to bring Sei back... but I just think Kurono really owes her.

WHAT??? Didn't it seem like he WAS showing off (more to Kishimoto than Sei)?! Idk... to me... I got the vibe that he really "loved" Kishimoto, but he knew he could never have her. Kurono obviously never had a girlfriend before so when there was a girl actually living with him, it drove him ever more crazy/jealous because she liked someone else. That's why I think he fucked Sei in the apartment, not because he liked Sei but so that just maybe Kishi will see them together. He still loved her(first one to react when she got killed) but he wanted to "pretend" like he didn't. So basically... Kurono used Sei for sex to make Kishi feel jealous/angry/replaceable. That's why I think Kurono should've revived Sei instead of choosing freedom.

Also... Katou became the leader even though Kurono thought him to be inferior to himself which... is why he went on a killing spree during the Buddha mission. Being "leader" usually means your the "best" which is why I think Kurono was trying to show off to everyone. I mean... there's a difference between self-defense and beating someone to death. Or Kobe Bryant scoring 81(selfish) and Michael Jordan scoring 69(winner).

I also agree that Katou "owes" to bring back Kishi... sortof. If her "original" wasn't there I'd totally agree, but since she's technically a mistake I have to say "keep her dead". Personally, I think that Katou never felt the same way about Kishimoto as she did about him. To him, she was just a girl... nothing more. It wasn't until she was dying in his arms when he realized her feelings for him. However, I still don't think he cared about her more even after her sacrifice. His final kiss to her was more of a thank you/good-bye kiss. Therefore I'm curious as to where the Anzu relationship will go with Katou. IMO... she's the perfect fit - older, goofy, care-free. Everything opposite of Katou - Clint Eastwood-stare, peaceful, strict.

Oh... and I absolutely agree that Katou so far is a horrible, horrible leader... he's suffering from a bad case of Spidey-syndrome(great power, great responsibility). lol

I just think that Oku's telling Kurono's story in reverse with Katou. Kei was a self-absorbed prick who had to learn some empathy to become a better person and leader. Katou will have to learn to be more pragmatic and ruthless just not to an Izumi-like extreme.
Hopefully, it won't take as long as Kurono took to stop being an asshole. Reading about an indecisive Katou is hardly exciting.

The theme between Kurono and Katou is mutual admiration. When they emulate one another they tend to grow as people. As shonen-ai as it sounds they complete eachother.

1000-arms didn't attack anyone else who was clearly dying (Sakuraoka after she got lasered up, Hojo/Sadako after they got melted, etc.). It's consistent with his other behaviour.

Well maybe you're right. It did seem like he wanted Kishimoto to notice him. Like I said, that's a stupid way to try to show off cause he could've gotten killed. I think he just wanted to do somethin and be somewhere to forget his troubles and wanted to find somewhere to belong.

So basically that means you agree? If 1000 arms wasn't goin to attack him again, that means Sei didn't save him and she just wanted to do somethin to make him like her. I still don't believe that either of them are owed anything cause they were responsible for their own deaths and Katou seems to have forgotten about Kishimoto even after Anzu described how Kishimoto was like.

    Er, on the topic...

I like option #3, actually. It's been shown in Gantz that reviving characters is REALLY unpredictable - seriously, who saw the return of Nishi? - so the fact that they can be revived only adds suspense. It allowed Kurono's death, so that now we're speculating about whether he'll come back or not. What if he doesn't? Ever? He just stays dead? If the reviving wasn't there, Kurono probably wouldn't have died, or if he did, we'd just spend the next fifty chapters whining about it and hoping there's a way to bring him back.

As for Tae, she really didn't appear in the manga afterwards, so who cares.

Well, I was disagreeing with "dramatic favoritism". Sakuraoka was trying to do something for him, which is nice and all, but it's tough to work out whether anyone owes anyone else in that sort of situation.

That's true. I'm not sayin we'd be tired of him. I mean, Oku would torture him if he spent the whole series in Gantz. He's right, If there was no option #3, a lot of us would be hoping he'd come back somehow and Katou too. I honestly never thought I'd see Nishi again. It's still a little shocking since Kurono's mind was on two people at the time.

Plus everybodies thinking that getting 100 pts is a piece of cake, even though it took Kurono and them 3 missions or more to get them. So it is more suspensful, because they have a choice and their desicion could bring out their character. I think Kaze and Takashi will not choose their freedom, neither Katou. But the rest probably would.
