Good chapter. Shows Katou is more skilled than he looks! I just wish he was a little braver...
Eh, so far I don't think Katou is more skilled than Kurono. But given a little more time, he'll probably become better than him. Unlike the others, Kurono killed alot of monsters without his suit. He took out the bird-bots, dinos, and vamps without a suit! I doubt Katou could accomplish as much suitless.

kurono doesn't have that much skill if you think about it it's just he's a survivor...
For someone in part of THE greatest city on the planet, I couldn't disagree with you more. Katou is great but he is more on par ability wise with Izumi minus the whole psychotic killing spree. He is an imposing figure but not the strongest. But when he puts on the suit he becomes truly super human. He is held back by more than the fact he doesn't want to kill. He is held back by his inability to truly grasp the goal he has placed in front of him. He wants everyone to always survive every mission. That is something that he can not do with being willing to be more offensive than using the net(y) gun.
That is something Kurono realized more quickly than anyone. That he needs to have a more offensive mindset. Use the other guns or the sword to injure, and then fire the Y. That is sound tactics. He doesn't have those. Kurono did have mindset, he knew he needed more than just a gun. by the time he gets free and then killed(Your an idiot for that Oku) he used every weapon that exists in the Gantz arsenal under the 100 points weapons. He was driving the dang gyrobike, I mean come on. But Kurono has always had "it" that thing people who become top members of their fields have. Katou doesn't grasp the middle ground that he could find with a combination of weapons that aren't guns. Katou needs that "it" and an understanding that you can turn left by going straight.
SIDENOTE: Are you a MO side or KS side person Cooler?

I also disagree.... You made Atilla khan work up a sweat. Lol.
It IS quite possible that Katou will become better than Kurono. The thing about that is he'll always have that respect and admiration for him so he probably won't see it like that. Kurono has many ways to hunt but Katou apparently only wants to go about it one way.
Katou's mindset is the problem. I think Izumi was better than Kurono, honestly...it's just that Kurono was superior at functioning on a team.
The reason I think he's better is his defeat of the Buddha Boss, but that's just me. It's a position that I can't defend, really...there's no real evidence in the series to support my view.
I think Katou was the most efficient at understanding the weapons...he's the only one who realized that the Y gun could defeat the Buddha Boss. He never got the chance to experience the bike or the sword...we'll see how he performs in the future.
I live in KS, but I spend most of my time in MO.

The Gantz Manual clearly shows that Izumi is superior to Kurono in almost everyway. It's not just you that thinks he’s superior.
If Kurono hadn’t recklessly attacked the boss, I am sure that him and Katou would have been fighting back to back in the end.
I agree with you that he understands the weapons more so than anyone else does.
The Buddha mission was an exercise in tactical stupidity. Togo knew what he was doing, and Katou got his act together in the end, but for the most part...blech.
