Even if Kurono started off as a loser too, at least Kurono was somehow likeable. You know what I mean?

well why not? i mean when the lightning strikes the ground it rips the ground apart, also how could he of gotten hurt just by grappling the demon its obvious that he broke the demons arm (deeming it usless) and then dodged another punch before getting shocked.

and although he does seem usless, the way his character has been built up is strange, at first you wouldnt really cam him a main character but he even has captions of him thinking now and the fact that he has survived so long tells me he may have something big comming up, im not saying he will kill the demon, but hell go out with a bang

Yeah... like the author shows any regret killing main characters. The jerk loves getting us attached to a bunch of characters... So he can slaughter them and make us sad.

I don't get it, shouldn't they (Gantzers) have all died because everyone has seen them? And yeah why did the timer stopped? Are they in untimed mode?
