For those of you who dislike her, keep in mind that Kurono would NOT be the badass he is today if it weren't for Tae. If I had to guess as to what he'd be like I'd say he would be acting like Nishi, hiding out and using his teammates as bait and so on.
Tae's death did affect me a little as well bob23. At the same time, I found the Tae hunt to be one of the most engaging parts of Gantz I'd read since the Buddha mission. I really enjoyed the fact that Tae finally got to see the other side of Kurono (I really want to see how things have changed between the two of them if he ever manages to bring her back). And I was kept in suspense as I kept hoping that Tae wouldn't die, despite the fact that I could see it coming.
I know a few of you have considered this, but what if Gantz took Tae on purpose, and the whole film thing was just an excuse? Kurono is probably one of the best warriors he's ever had and he would want to hold on him. It seemed convenient that he only revealed that he could revive people after Tae died.
But yeah, in regards to your question bob23, I'd say the answer is sitting at two so far.I know there's a few more, but they're probably all in hiding or something. Plus, "deeply upset" is a bit strong. I would say I was upset, but I didn't feel like someone close to me had just died or anything.
