Lil Slugger theory

Here's how I think it goes down.

Maybe gantz is like the equivalent to lil slugger from paranoia agent who attacked people who were in an "emotional corner". All of the people in the room aren't as random as people think. They all have one major thing in common and that is that they all needed changes in their lives.

Kei didn't give a shit about anything but himself but then he went to the room and he started fighting to keep other people alive. Kishimoto was depressed and commited suicide. Masaru and his brother were having troubles at home. The rest of the gantzer regulars are all rapists, rape victims, have been abused, or have some secret lives.

As for the animals there's a simple explanation........ IT MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE!!!!! They're just there for fun.

The animals make sense, too. Wasn't that panda from the zoo? It probably hated its life. The dog supposedly belonged to a "desperate office lady", which was probably a rather dull existance.

Great theory.

And what about the old lady and the kid from the Suzuki Alien mission? What about the teacher guy from the first mission? The old dude in the recent missions doesn't seem that fucked up either.

Your theory doesn't hold since many quite normal people are also taken by Gantz.

to me it felt like the old guy had lost faith in humanity prior to meeting Kurono.

and the kid might have been a child abuse victim. The old granny and her grandkid were a case of an old person spoiling a young person, i think thats the only thing they were meant to represent

im liking the theory but what about the black dudes and the yoku (bikers) fair enough they were all thugs...but they werent really in an emotional corner...

and nor was muscle rider really he just helped save a few people he hardly has emotions! and sakurai had jus got out of his emotional corner, sakata too he was all like emotionless didnt care either way about anything

i dont think this theory holds up

Yeah what about Reika? She's a freaking model!! She's rich for god sake. I wouldn't want my life to change if I had it that good.

Had it that good? She´s always in the spotlight, has no freetime, everyone is wathing her, I don´t think her life is that great otherwise she would have commited suicide.

Money isn´t everything.

Countryside General still needs to chage, he is still looking for conflict and his whole life revolves around fighting.

Maybe Gantz wanted him and Izumi because they had the fighters spirit? And the rest of the characters would be fixed by the events, if they managed to survive... it is a good theory.
