Thread: Do you think GANTZ could work as a live action movie?

do you like POWER RANGERS? cuz that's what it would end up like

I think the story could be adapted into a American TV show.

Over There managed to air on FX and was damn violent and swear happy.

Gantz could work as a drama show with some fucked up situations causing tension, such as aliens.

I also think live action would work well, as early on the series had a very realistic art style, so trying to make a fairly realistic looking show, with some out there elements... it would work.

As a pure movie? No, it's too slow paced and serialized of a story.

Hell, the anime was not that bad, it got a bit head trippy and had too much indecision shots so they could draw out the episode count.

Gantz the live action movie....NO

Maybe if there were excellent actors plus director plus screen writer, but come on how many anime/manga/comic based movies are good? Maybe if someone OTHER than Hollywood made the movie.

If Japanese writers and directors can do Ichi the Killer, Godzilla, The Eye, Dark waters, The Ring, Rumble Battle Royale, etc... I don't see why they can't make Gantz. Put on a dinosaur costume, dude. You're in Gantz... Besides it doesn't have to exacyly follow the manga, the movie would be too long. Just leave the sex scenes in though, it's important character development.. lol.

That's a good cosplay costume....but if it was turned into a movie it would look soo much better. Anyways, I think Gantz would be perfect for a LA movie. Just use some advanced CG animation and it would rock. Maybe a different plot and characters than the actual story tho...

I don't recall a "live-action" doing justice to any anime. So, no.

yeah, the problem is would they stay true to the story, or would the story be short-changed.
