Guys, it is really simple. The vamp's katanas did not have as much power, speed, and sharpness, as the other alien did. Think of medievil suits of armor. Some damage goes throguh, but not all. Some lances pierce the armor, while others glance it.

Now, about the alien rape. . . . . isn't she a noncombatant? Is this an atrocity of war?

That's possible, but the Buddha Boss didn't appear to wield his sword with much speed or power at all. It could just be that sharp, but it didn't appear to dull at all. There are all kinds of possibilities, but we don't know which possibility it is.

As for war crimes, I'm pretty sure the X-gun would fall afoul of the conventions as well. Fortunately for everyone involved, they aren't (or probably aren't, unless Nishi turns out to have been telling part of the truth way back when) official members of an army, and thus cannot be subject to the conventions.

What's wrong with implanting miniature bombes inside of people and then setting them off?
Seriously though, I still don't get how it was supposed to have cauterized Kurono's wounds. It's blows stuff up, it doesn't burn them.

Actually, it is consistent with what we've seen before. If you note, while the explosion itself can be bloody, there doesn't seem to be a lot of bleeding after it—IIRC even the Yakuza dude who got his entire torso blown out was only bleeding a small stream out of the entire upper third of his body. There are a number of ways for it to make sense, but we don't know which it is.

    - Try to bare in mind that different aliens will have varying levels of technology. it is quite possible that 1000 arms sword employed some sort of technology housed with in it to enable it to penetrate the suit. Better question is what is the suit? as far as i see it the suit creates a field of protection we know this because unexposed sections of the suit, such as the head are also protected by the suit. So it is not about being able to penetrate the suit as such but instead the field around the body generated by the suit. Perhaps a large amount of energy is required to do this? such as a lazer beam from 1000 arms or an incredible amount of brute strength or even elemental fire (a burning flame is after all one of our most used means of generating energy).

    - as for fixing kurono leg with the x-gun: i think the key point is that kato saw that the acid was eating up kurono's leg so he had to remove part of his leg in order to get the acid off. Its just another example of how Kato is actually a very on the ball person. He is very strategic he knows what to do. when bullies at school were going to take him out what did he do? he went and nipped it in the bud. Sure he wants to avoid violence, any reasonable person would, but when his friends are threatened and there is no other way out he will fight and he will do it in a smart fashion.

It had nothing to do with cauterizing. The acid was eating his leg; Katou had to destroy the affected region or Kurono would be burned even more.
