    Default Troubling situation

There is somthing that really troubles me about gantz. There was this premise from the very early stages of the gantz story line that if a gantzer managed to get a hundred points they would be able to escape. This has been the motivational tool for characters ranging from Kurono to Nishi. Even though some of the current gantz team has used a hundred points to revive others it is their ultimate goal to leave gantz together. It was even Izumi motivation the first time round.

With the recent demise of kurono and izumis return to gantz and then death it would appear that this premise and motivation no longer holds. It must be obvious to the gantzers by now that there is no definite way out of gantz and gantz related issues. Obviously there motivation now is to bring kurono back to life - but once that happnes what next? what will drive the team to continue fighting gantz missions and carrying on through the living hell that is gantz?

That becau$e the vampire$ hunt them to death.
before that I dont think other$ ganter$ had a problem e$caping of gantz.
to be completely free I think that the ganter$ have to kill all the vampires (till moment).

I wouldn't say that the early stages focused on the 100 points at all. More like midway. The initial motivation was survival. (Besides Nishi)

As for Izumi, my question is, what made him leave Gantz in the first place?

With the recent demise of kurono and izumis return to gantz and then death it would appear that this premise and motivation no longer holds. It must be obvious to the gantzers by now that there is no definite way out of gantz and gantz related issues. Well the world of Gantz is changing, we have discovered that it is a worldwide event, also in the preview, we are shown another Gantz team.
My personal opinion is that the Gantzers will be in competition for points during missions. Gantz also seems to be exposed to the world, the rules seem to have changed IMO. But who knows, its too early to be speculating further at this point.

Well, Izumi might have been a good leader and then his teammates told him to leave gantz (as in kurono's case).

Or maybe when Izumi first got 100 points there wasn't any other option apart from freedom.

Or he was tired of seeing people dying and felt too depressed to keep "playing". Who knows

maybe theres other things we don't know about Gantz. I agree with the no other options besides freedom, but I definetly don't think Izumi care less about people dying. See shinjuku street chapters.

As others have said, it's very strongly implied that Izumi was different when he was in Gantz. People change all the time, and things like having large portions of a life-changing experience erased from your memory (while other portions remain) will cause some significant shifts.

I don't know if I agree with this. This is because in the Scanlation I read after the oni mission when they were selecting what to do with their points Izumi said something along the lines of "number 2, have it ready for the next time."(paraphrase) To me that kind of sounds like he knew what he was talking about, like he'd seen it before.

Not only that: remember the scene where Izumi showed the gantzers the options screen on gantz. I believe it was just after the Tay mission. Thats when kurono vowed he would bring back his loved ones. So i think we can safely say it was not the only option.

I think the it depends on the person some have come to like gantz others hate but I really don't think they can escape gantz since really they are all copies any like Nishi mention in phase one.

Yeah, I can agree that. I just remembered his memory of the three other gantzers, so if he actually had friends, he couldn't be a total psyco.
