actually i dont see what everyone is so hyped about him for, until i wikied the series once i finished it i hadnt even remembered who he was, narciscisstic and forgettable, the way he died was interesting though but it certainly doesnt give the impression that hes a powerful gantzer. just lucky maybe and like Ayato said, a year to get 90 points is a LONG time, unless of course he made 100 and just chose not to quit. he does seem like the kind of person who'd enjoy killing things for no reason.

He may have lost some missions, or there could have been a rash of them like the Onion mission, where the point yields weren't that high.

What makes Nishi spectacular is that he survived for as long as he did, as a weak child, and without assistance for the majority of the time.

True he survived but it was not through any spectacular achievements. He just took advantage of information that he alone knew and used unsuspecting people as scapegoats.
Remember that he said that the whole thing was some television show. So i would say that he had assistance by using the others as cannon fodder.

The mere fact that he survived is a spectacular achievement.

the way it seems tho cooler is that you dont need to be especially good to survive just have a bit of insanity and a killing instinct, the people that always die always seem to be the most hesitant to kill (except Reika) ... but then again im just speculating, Sensei died and he had no qualms about killing things. also theres no guarantee that Nishi won every mission for a year to only accumulate 90 points he most likely LOST a couple missions and just survived and had his points reset. in the span of what four months Kei got to 50 back to zero and then up to 134. thats one third the time Nishi had and he got more points.

Kei's missions were obviously higher point yields than Nishi's, though. Missions on the scale of the Oni or Dinosaur ones cause massive devestation. That stuff ends up on the news. The wierd incidents Kikuchi was tracking hadn't been going on for that long...Nishi's missions weren't as large in scale as, say, the Oni mission. Kurono's points can't be used against Nishi.

Let me say again: Nishi survived for a year. As a weak child. With no allies for the majority of the time. That alone makes him a spectacular Gantzer.

We don't know how much time he was alone, he is a good gantzer and he survive a year with his strategy of hide and using people to kill aliens (in some way).
but i don't think he is a spectacular gantzer IMO with the current gantz team he doesn't stand out.

What he either lacked was technique or tactics. His lone wolf thing couldnt have worked out too well... he died. With his death brought the conclusion that he isn't a great tactician, nor is he a great fighter (he lost to an alien that everyone else there killed - katou, kishimoto, the pretty boy who had the stalker) I personally thought he lost because he was over dependant on the gun he was using. Either way, his dependance on that or his stupidity to jump into the water and then trying to battle the alien there... take your pick. From what we've seen of him he did indeed suck, and died accordingly.

The "he survived a year" argument can't be that sturdy considering he died in like the second mission we saw, and that was an easy mission by comparison to some of the later ones.
Yeah he suck in that mission but let just blame that his suit wasn't working good because of the previous incident

Physically weak. He's probably never tried attacking the aliens because he's a weak guy.

I agree that the points thing is invalid.

Tactics and technique were what he survived on. He died because he was betrayed by that biker early on. The damage his suit sustained made him vulnerable, and he was forced into combat when he wasn't prepared.

I've explained his death countless times. His suit was heavily damaged going into the mission. He never stood a chance.

We know he was alone for quite a while, because of his comments about how long it had been since anyone else had survived.

    Hm...
About the damage that nishi took before mission. The siuts (as persons themselves) are totally repaired durring the transfer INTO the room 100%, so what makes you think, that they are not repaired every time they are transfered by Gantz. Personally if I were Gantz i wouldn't bother about counting damage etc. Surviving for 1 year is spectacular, but Nishi would suck in a team (I just can't imagine him doing anything) He's a lone wolf, even now he is nowhere to see. My team: Kurono (No shit abobut his leadership, he is just good at it) and either it would be Sniper, Muscle Rider or Izumy (if he would do a little teamwork).
    Yes, PurePowa.
    That's the theory anyway.

cooler, ive been on your side for a little while, but your theory about the suit getting damage = him dieing seems a little rediculas. kurono didnt even HAVE a suit. also im on DafZT's side with the suits being repaired after transfer, it just makes sense. Izumi's suit was broken during dino-oni break but was repaired after the transfer in. it most likely was repaired when they were sent outside.
