each individual have their perspectives developed based on the environment they grew up in.... it would be laughable if an individual only considered his own perspective the correct one..because that would just lead to conflicts with other people..
all perspectives are valid considering Gantz, whether it's the entertainment value, sex, gore, or morality of it.
hmmm.. just to give you a perspective from a japanese point of view (i'm japanese), in japan, among young people/adults, we commonly see two different categories of people. One category is people with determination and goals. The other category is of people without determination and goals. The people with determination and goals strive for good jobs. The people without determination, you see a lot of them just hanging around all day smoking with their friends. You see a lot of them at shibuya and at parks 'n such. It is really hard to imagine what it's like in Japan without actually visiting there. The streets are just crowded with people and it becomes really easy to lose yourself (identity) in that dense population. Many people feel like they're insignificant since they're only one ant in an army of many. You see a lot of gangs and violence as groups of these no-determination individuals group together. Life just melts from one day to the next, each day just spent outside sitting around, smoking with friends. Life has no meaning to a lot of them and you see them going around bullying people. You also see alot of girls just walking up to you and asking you if you want to have a 'high' w/ her (have sex....but obviously for a small fee....unless you're handsome... i've been asked a few times b4.) Gantz does address some of the issues that young people in japan are faced with (and frustrated with) in terms of life and morality. Not to offend anyone, but compared to japan, cities in western societies look like countrysides...... if you get a chance, please visit Japan. I'm not saying japan is bad, because I love japan....but just that it's a completely different environment that'll open your eyes for sure. Please be aware that this is only one side of japan...i hope i'm not painting a really bad picture of japan.. there's good sides to it too.
