No it is not worth it, don't read gantz, I'm serious.
you'll become one of us in gantz forum, become addicted to gantz, create thread, or post/spam just to kill the time until new gantz ch come out.

well it's pretty obious that he/she didn't got the idea.

C'mon Flash...is always the same...people create threads to say that Gantz is awsome...or to ask if it's worthless.
i hate that kind of unnecesary threads...what is the meaning of them...maybe another post in the list.
C'mon Gantz is an excellent manga and serie...it has a lot of themes to discuss...

You're not the bad guy ^_~. Gantz is one of the best mangas I've ever read, second only to Berserk.

Definitely worth it, though you may want to resist the temptation to read it all in a go and read one or two issues a day or something. That way you might be able to skip out on all the long waiting for new issues to come out.

i for one prefer manga as opposed to anime, it doesnt take 1 hour to watch the first 2 episodes and determine wether its good
given this, i ve read a lot of manga, and few of them keep me up at night wantind to read more and more chapters, Berserk being one of them, DeatNote, was one of them, and Gantz is right up there with them, it is one of the greatest mangas i ve read and anyone who tells you its plotless is most definetly an ignorant or a 13yo
why? because one of the things that makes Gantz unique is its perfect portrayal of awkard situations
Gantz doesnt waste time explaining itself, like many anime/manga i know, (which i consider a really stupid action) whose plot is just so ridiculous, and the authors are so damn wacky, that they have to explain the plot themselves and we see the characters entail in self-examination, sor of like Evangelion (dont get me wrong, i love the series, it was original, and a masterpiece, but too many works seek to imitate it rather than evolve from it) because they re not simple enough for the audience to catch it
Gantz, situations are pretty darn realistic (aside from the whole blackball/alien thing) they portray how most ppl would act, dumbfounded and shocked, and they rarely portray the thoughts of any one character for a long period of time
