that's pretty much easy to explain following my theory:

back in the dino mission, there were only 2 gantz previous members: Izumi and Kurono, BOTH OF THEM ACKNOWLEDGED BY GANTZ AS AWESOME GANTZERS (yet gantz was a bit deceptioned of kurono); so he sent them after a gang of dinos.

next fight, with the ring aliens, whey would have been pretty much as troublesome as the dinos, BUT back then kaze, sakata, cherry, reika and baldy were trained to become good gantzers; between missions, they were trained by kurono on the suit uses and capabilities, and he told them about the dangers involved in alien hunting... they were all prepared for a fight where gantz had only expected izumi & kurono as the real deal

But at least..i think that..the ring alien mission,was short..because Oku wanted to do the Tae Mission...better...more exciting @_@

the ring alien mission was mearly a way to ibtroduce and create a resont to have a tae mission wich its ultimate purpose was to create dramatic tension

I also agree on the fact nishi was so desperate for getting his 100 points that he made a stupid mistake from the very beggining of the mission

finally, there's a way to prove my theory: we wait until the next mission, where the two strongest gantzers have left the team (one dead and one... fired?? xD), so we can figure out it's gonna be a hard one, yet not as hard as the oni one (unless, of course, the vamps get involved)

...and yes..now that the best gantzers are gone..i think that everyone will die in the next mission.
and then when the new mission start(after that everyone died)..Gantz will send te new ones to kill Kurono and bring him back.
doing this..Kurono would have to train and teach all the new ones..how to fight.

All die? No way man. Katou will not die!! He kicks ass!! And they have still some good people in there, like the fighter and psychics and of course old man. Dont remember names, sry. And Nishi might prove to be good, who knows.

One thing I've been wondering about. I think Nishi knows very well what's happening with Gantz and the changing of the rules. I think he found a hole in the security system, and that's how the wrote in the webpage. He might have even told someone about it, and that triggered what happened in the last mission.

Was it in the manga or in the anime ? I think it was in the anime before the second mission (IIRC it was in the episode before Sadako, Hojo, the bikers and the granny die ).
