He probably got it in the same room he got the bike. If you look at ch136, you can see several of the katana weapons(with blade retracted) lying on the ground in the bike room. Thats how Izumi got his too, I think.

I think EGBTMagus was more wondering why we didn't see him pick it up, and why he hasn't been using it till now. ....and why we didn't see him carrying it earlier either.
