From reading the entire manga I have to say i didn't see a single point where they could just end it unless the anime has a completley seperate plot after mission three.

for my part, on seeing the anime and the manga, only one question sprang to my mind:
WHY THE ANIME??
it's so boring, so badly drawn, so dull......
"Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for I am the baddest mother fucker in the valley."
The point of the anime is a guy fighting for his life (even though he already died).
um, i dont carve blood......really
oh my! just as in the manga!

and I must say I was pretty dissapointed. At first it was tolerable, theres alot of computer animation, but its kinda crappy, the cel animation looks low budget, alot of still frames and repetitive movements, but it was pretty accurate as far as in comparison to the manga, scripting, story, and graphic (still less graphic than the manga.. ;_; ). They did change a few things, but nothing too important. They really screwed it over in the end tho, after mission three they either skipped straight to the end of the manga (which hopefully isnt the case, because it was very lame and inconclusive...) or made up a whole bunch of bs to cut the anime short. Im more inclined to believe the latter just because it really did look low budget, so it probably did fly to well in Japan. Well atleast theres still the manga...
there is no plot for gants, its just random people dying with some sex scenes inserted. enjoy.
emm well the anime does pretty much suck.. though it has it's moments
the worst parts are ofcourse lots of static graphics, shich are just ridiculous, I mean you have guys chatting for like 10mins whie the alien tries to make 10metres to kill the middle-schooler and stuff
as for the ending.. well it's absolutely stupid and weird, every second you wonder "when is kei going to wake up?"
as an experience however the ending is pretty cool showing all sorts of takes on life, the amount of controversial thought it provokes is through the roof, and the feeling of hollowness you get after that is second to none....
that is if you are watching it all alone in a darkened room, cut of from the rest of the world, prefirabely lying down half-asleep ---- I think that's the way most animes need to be watched like anyway (tell me if I'm weird)
visit my homepage... since life\'s pointless anyway ^_^
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah still none of you have answered my question. I want to know what the plot of the anime is. Not how much it sucks or how stupid the ending is. I want to know how they ended it if it follows the manga which never once had a point where it could end except maybe after the buddah massscre but I don't think they'd do that.
The plot? I would have answered that it has NO plot...but now I'd say killing and sexOriginally Posted by Lord Kickass

The anime follows the manga right up to the buddha massacre, though they throw in a few extra characters that die and join Gantz right after the buddha mission. The mission after the buddha one is the last one.Originally Posted by Lord Kickass
SPOILER (for the anime)
Kei is made the target by Gantz (perhaps this is supposed to be a nod towards the manga when Tae is made the target) and everyone dies again. Then Kei gets run over by a train ...again. At the end, Gantz and everyone else just cease to exist, like it never happened at all.
