I suggest rereading the first and the last published chapter

Katou has the hair in the back (he's going to get bald at old...huh?....BALDY!!!! XDDD) and izumi has model hair xDD
Katou's hair in the anime was kind of blue...

Their faces are pretty similar at first glance

I thought Gantz supposed to be the easiest comic to follow, unlike futari ecchi [' .']
Gantz is full of antithesis like:
Sei(still wondering why everyone calls her sae)- Kishimoto: One likes kurono, knows to fight, independient, the other dont XD.
Izumi - Kato: One kills even his teammates if necesary, kills inocent people, the other don't XD.
Thats why they're are so alike but completly (i've spelled it right?) different.
