Thread: Tae (spoiler obviously)

Well, that asshole of an author finally did it....he offed off when of the most dynamic and important characters of the GantZ's universe, Tae.

Tae completely surprised me, she took me off guard. I didn't think she'd be so important. I have studied numerous manga techiniques and I noticed that whenver a pivotal character is introduced, a large panel has to be used. Also, female leads tends to have large boobs and extremely flashy background.

Tae had none of those, no flashy entrance or large boobs...she was the epitome of normal. She was kind, sweet and gentle...I kept expecting her to be offed in ten chapters.

Yet, surprisingly, she kept appearing over and over in multiple sagas.

- The angel Alien thingy
- The Shinjuku Massacare
- The vampire attack
- The horsemen
- The Tae hunt

Amazingly enough, Tae lasted a lot longer than the two other canon characters, Kishimoto and Katou.....after her first brush with death, I had thought that it was the end of Tae's danger arc, since the author already used that plot device. Clearly, I was wrong...

I've lost the will to continue Gantz immediately...currently, I'm in ch186. I'll read the others once a suffiecient number of chapters have been released (maybe up to ch210?)

I'm making this forum my home for now. So please, let's try to be open-minded about our discussions.

Anyway, I just wanted to say my piece....and gather all those who need a hug and weep for Tae.

Why'd her body appear disappear, anyway? To hide any evidence?

First of all, no, i dont think Tae is gone for good. Even if Kei is to break up with her, it will be after she is revived.
She seemed to be a cute character, i'd hate to see her vanish.

If you're only up to ch186, then this is no spoiler.. most of us are up to date, since we're all gantz addicted (by inspecting our forum, i'd hope you'll see why)

It's because there are still some people asking what's GantZ about and why should they read it.

Well i know she is important as soon as Kei slept with her, and since she is important to Kei she will die soon. But the plot is really interesting as they let the hunter after her. Actually i thought she will be killed by an alien and join the hunter...
