Thread: Freedom. Weapon. Resurrection.

EDIT: I guess I should have phrased that, "what would you do with your *first* 100 points?" =)

I bet this has been polled before, so I'll try to make it more interesting.

Which would you choose and why?

1. Go free/lose memories
2. Powerful weapon
3. Resurrection from memory

As much as I'd want to resurrect someone I think I'd go with a powerful weapon, first. This may ensure better scores in futuer missions. Raking in the points more quickly, I'd resurrect those I knew to be effective fighters. We could increase our numbers. Problem here is the wait time for points may go up since there were more on the team to divide point among. However, the pattern has been that missions grow in difficulty. In addition, I wonder if the powerful weapon would earn less points because of simplifying the mission.

I'd definitely resurrect Sakura-something Sei, that sniper guy, the first martial artist. Or maybe someone they knew, as so many did for kurono.

I hold something against izuki: the mass slaughter of innocents for his own ends. But then, what is GANTZ's ultimate motive? Forgiveness is not out of reach for him, but he differs greatly from katou's compassionate nobility which kurono inherited. Izuki fights for bloodlust sport.

But then there's this consideration: the absolute last mission is completed, no more GANTZ and you delayed resurrecting a friend in favor of the weapon and no longer have the option of seeing them, again. That would suck.

Going free is not an option, in my mind. It's a false freedom. I lose who I have become due to lost memories (as we saw happening to kurono) and may end up dying as a bystander when I could have been fighting for my life and the lives of others--deprived of the chance to keep making a contributing difference for the better. No, I'd rather keep fighting until victory is attained, or my own bitter end. Who knows, hopefully someone would resurrect me. =)

Yeah, I'd get a really powerful weapon too. (I dunno....does a super ultra gantz suit that doesn't die out as easily count as a powerful weapon?)

I had the same idea as you did, I'd just get a stronger weapon to bring in more points so I could resurrect faster. You know...freedom might be an option for me, afterall doing those missions can get super creepy and scary.

What Izumi did was pretty wrong (dressing up as a black guy. XD) but I can understand it, seeing how friggin crazy he is and how Gantz is manipulative.

For who I'd ressurrect.... I wouldn't ressurect the first martial artist, he just died so easily! XD But I see your point there with the last mission possiblity, if you feel safe with what you have to fight with on the missions then you should just resurrect somebody.

Yep!!! you two are right!!!...if i lost a friend i would choose the powerfull weapon...with that..i'll kill lots of aliens easily and obtain the 100 again...and the revive my friend!!!
But the going free..is still an option..that must be considerated...maybe to escape from madness..i dunno
i would resurrect: Sei...The sniper guy...Rice (the dog)...Masanobu Hojo (the Homo)...Sadako Nakayama (i think that both deserve an opportunity) ..and the Martial Arts Guy...

Depends If you could bring back someone from Outside of Gantz, Then I'd choose my Mother or a genius like Da Vinchi, and change the world.

Otherwise I'd go Powerful Weapon, because I wouldn't be able to go back to a normal life after being in Gantz, even if I cant remember it.

i would uze 100 ptz. to save mi frendz den ill get a powerful weapon to protect them. then i will leave wen they r free.

it...should be better if you do it vice versa!!! use the 100 pionts to obtain the weapon...with the weapon gain other 100 points again...revive you friend..and protect him until he reaches the 100 points to be free!!!..and later you of course!!!

well there are a number of paths:

use your first savlo of pts to get the weapon is the first thing to do on all the paths except the following:

1.) wimp: use first 100pts to go free, leave your buddies and honeys, time to go home.
2.) the good friend: get the weapon, then ressurect your buddies, wait till you all get 100pts, then go free.
3.)The stereotypic hero: get the weapon, ressurect everyone on gantz's roster, this becomes fast assuming you ressurect the best fighters first and the noobs last, and that each mission has more enemies, the rate at which you can ressurect will rise exponentially.
4.)Nishi style: just get the weapon. Twice,two superweapons are better than one, so they say. mr.vugly izumi would do the same thing. loller

those are generally what you can do. I would probably opt for option 3, except the priorities of reviving people would be something like this: Best fighters, the chicks, then everyone else. Chicks who can fight, like the clearly underaged lara croft, is a plus. anyone know the age of consent in tokyo? 16? 14?

I'd probably choose powerful weapon but IF someone important in my group died,I'd probably choose revival.

This is kinda off-topic, but do you think that a lag-free X-shotgun would count as an extremely powerful weapon? Maybe a lag-free X-machinegun?

I think what I would choose would definitively depend on the situation I am in. If I would have lost a valuable friend or family member due to a fight caused by a Gantz operation, I would surly resurrect them. I would also resurrect people with whom I made friends with in Gantz, but I am not sure whether I would stay till all my friends would be able to leave Gantz. The reason is that if I would think that they have a good chance to make it on their own. There is no reason to stay behind. Also I don’t think that your friends (when they are good friends) would want that you risk your life more than necessary for them. They already know that you are a true friend, because you already chose to stay behind in Gantz an risk your own life in order to resurrect them.

If I did not feel any obligations to the people who died during the Gantz operations, I would choose the freedom, because you will never know whether you make it out alive if you stay. Also to choose to loose your memory can be very beneficial, because during the time in Gantz you will see many things which will cause you nightmares – be it that you would see that your allies are being torn apart by the aliens or be it that you have to kill yourself. It might be easier to kill creatures which don’t resemble us humans, but if you also have to kill aliens or vampires which resemble humans, that might be hard for you.

To claim that you would stay in Gantz in order to hunt down the aliens, is illusory. You have to understand that you have to go through the same thing as if you would have to fight in a war. Almost everybody, who is not insane, does not want to fight in a war, because the price which you will have to pay mentally is very high. Most of the people who had to fight in a war will have nightmares the rest of their life and most of the time they will have a very hard time to adapt to the normal life.

So to say, it is the ultimate liberty to choose the option of freedom in Gantz, because you will also lose the memory of everything, which will put you under mental stress the rest of you life.
