Kingdom Hearts.. an RPG that doesn't have the soul of a real RPG.
Gone are the times when RPG were truly immersive games such as the old 80's and early 90's Sierra games.
The Elder Scrolls games are true RPGs in the sense that you really are playing as a character in a world so believable. Kingdom Hearts and most Japanese "RPGs" are just adventure games with resctricted worlds that don't let you to immerse yourself into the environment.
But I guess that most of you are too young to have enjoyed the old Sierra/Dynamix role-playing games.
Hehehe, you make it sound as if your really old. Although in truth Kingdom Hearts II is more of an adventure RPG, I still enjoy the good old D&D engine. Unlike Elder scroll which is like a first person rpg, I think D&D goes further back with the books.

Fallout is very open-ended and you can do ANYTHING you want, from being addicted to drugs or being a whore if you are a woman
Gothic is a great RPG too and also draws you into an immersive world.
Too bad that kids today are obsessed with anything that Japan farts out, whether it's manga, music, anime or video games.
You guys are laem.
KH:COM was about how they went into Castle Oblivion, Sora losing most of his memories, causing him to be all stupid like trying to save a girl(namine) he doesn't even know, beating Marluxia and other members, staying in a flower pod for over a year to regain his memories, and etc.
KH: COM was a real letdown.
If it wasn't so important to understanding the plot of KH2, I never would have completed Sora's story. The plot was like 90% recycled material, and the gameplay was among the most repetitive of any game I have ever played. By the time I got to Rikku's story, I had enough and just read the plot summaries on Wikipedia.
And this one is for Jyuu.
What are your favorite rpgs then? I never really play non-Japanese rpgs because the ones I played bored me to tears.
The Elder Scrolls, Baldur's Gate, Fallout, Neverwinter Nights, Gothic, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, and for the older ones: King's Quest, Betrayal at Krondor, etc.
Come to think of it, I always did want to give Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic a try.
Thanks, I'll look into some of those.
