Pehaps with all the ideas, investment into a gamepad would be fully justified).
Consider the Logitech Dual Rumblepad, It looks exactly like a PS2 controller. The only difference; the D-pad is way better. Just what you're looking for if you want to play fighting games on the PC, right?

    -- PC as a platform.
-- If it is old one -- easy to be runned under WinXP.
-- preferabely -- with some existing on-line documents on special moves (just in case i'll come across it without proper "hard" manual).

    Thanks beforehand!

    I have no clueee,
without emulators it is hard to get worthy fighting games, but if you do have emulator for ps1 or ps2, try Marvel vs. Capcom and Street fighter EX plus Alpha, Tekken,
N64 emu: Super smash bro. melee...
and some other that already mentioned

Many thanks to all of you!!
Right now I'm trying to "become at one with my gamepad" in GGX2, but I'll try to check out other suggestions (why there are only 24 hours in a day...)
