Yes Nintendo is going to have online. If I recall, they were going the good way with their online, by having one user/code or whatever rather than one for each game. It is going to be cheaper than the Ps3 and 360, but releasing a cheaper console last... not sure if it's the best marketing strategy.

Revolution comes out, cheaper and by that time... majority of people already have a console apart from Fanboys and Hardcore gamers.
Whether or not it's a novelty. Only the games will tell. It has huge potential, and from what's been heard it seems that Nintendo fully realise that potential. I think it'll be like the DS touchscreen, some games use the thing to it's full extent and without it, it'd be a completely different game, other games basically ignore it.
The controller will rock.
Or it will reaaallly suck.
But look at it this way, people said the DS was a stupid idea that would never get off the ground, but it has some of the best concept games ever on a handheld : trauma center, yoshi touch and go, kirby, nintendogs(tamagachi revolution?).
Anyway, I think that the revolution will be really cool. And if it actually gets that $199 price point... who cares?
If you look at some of the concepts involved, the revolution could be really awesome. Think quarterback mode where you actually throw the ball. or a racing game where you simply hold the controller between your palms and turn it like a steering wheel. or a flying sim where you use the controller like a stick. The possibilites are cool, all that remains is to see if it actually gets cashed in. personally I won't say anything until we get some demos at the gaming conference (only a few weeks!!!) and E3 (no booth babes ).
And with rumble feature the controller is secretly a female sex toy as well
But seriously i think this is awesome what nintendo is doing. The DS was a huge step and its outselling PSPs. Im a nintendo fangirl so ill get the REV first and also cause its teh cheapest. Nintendo dev kits are also $2000 so that mean small companies may get a start off. Just look at game freak. Also i cant wait to play some old school games on it
But of course Twilight princess far beats teh rev for me whenever it comes out
I think in Revolution, Nintendo will start make game for adult game. Since most of Nintendo game jst for kid
Sorry, but *SLAP*

I'll slap pummel and maim.
as for the question, it should be because of the controller basically, and the huge library of past games from snes and the64 yes, i think it'll be revolutoinary but if it doesn't have online OR multiplatform games, it'll suck and i won't buy it
I think revolution will be great!! i heard when you play twilight princess to NGC on it, you move the controller like in revgames! interesting... (and nintendo wifi will be on it too, like on ds..) aahh..
Wifi like on the DS? What's the point for a non-portable console?!
