What about the shaman king game for nintendo ds? anyone played that one? i think the reason why the anime based games suck is because there are fans out there whu are willing to buy anything if it is about their favourite manga/anime/movie etc. it is possible to earn a lot of money on a simple game that way.

I honestly liked the Legacy of Goku games.

Not so much the first, but 2 and 3 were good.

Also, yes, the Pokemon games rock (also, I don't think they count because the games came first)

I've heard that the Hajime no Ippo boxing games are quite good, although I haven't picked one up myself. The second one is supposed to have a good career management system (although almost anything would be better than the sham that fight night round 2 has), but it hasn't come to the US (that I'm aware of) and I don't really feel like importing it.

But yeah, most licensed games in general suck. The ones that turn out good are exceptions to the rule.

Yeah, the first Hajime no Ippo (Victorious Boxers) game is pretty addictive. Everyone I introduced it to really liked it after they got used to the controls.

I also liked the Shaman King games for gba, Dragon Ball Z Legends for psx and DBZ Budakai Tenkaichi for Ps2. The Yu Yu Hakusho games for Genesis and Super Nintendo (the Sega Megadrive and Super Famicom, respectively) were really good too, especially the Genesis version.
Pretty much everything isn't so great, with a few exceptions that I don't know about.

Btw, there is no doubt in my head that Sailor Moon SuperS for Psx is the worst videogame based off an anime series ever made.

Yea, i've seen clips of the Beserek game and it freakin looked awesome, I need to find a emulator or something and try downloading that game online. (dont have the current budget to buy DC and the game even if it cost like 30 dollars >_<).

Really want to try the Hajime no Ippo games, but I havent heard of it coming to america yet (and if it has havent heard of it) and I dont really want to try importing it later.

Overall I've never really expected much from games based off animes but if you want to get your anime on while still playing there are quite a few games that have anime style art and animation, even anime cutscenes.

Hmmmm.... some anime-based games may suck in different ways but they arent all that bad, for example, if people played the rpg DBZ games on GBA they may have put some twist to some parts of the story but it was still great and they probably did that to enhance the rpg element of the game, and another example is the shaman king game on GBA there were still some twist and the gameplay was unoriginal(very similar to the castlevania series on gba especially castlevania:Aaria of sorrows, aww heck it was made by konami anyway) but its still very impressive, there is one very cool anime-based game on GBA that i really really like and that is the prince of tennis games, man this game is sooo cool for me(probably because im a fan of the anime and im a fan of professional tennis as well).

One of the games came to america under the title "Victorious Boxers" for the PS2 and (because nobody cared about it) can be found for around $10 or less.
