Yeah. How did it start off as Rockman? I mean, Megaman doesn't have anything to do with rocks so it sounds kinda corny in my point of view. But, I still do wonder how it changed to Megaman.

its known as rockman in japan because of the original. it was supposed to be a cheesy pun on the names. in other words there was rockman (mega), Roll, Forte (Bass), and Treble. Rock and Roll, get it?

In other words, the characters' Japanese names are music themed.
Don't forget Protoman's Japanese name, Blues.
    Forever searching...

I have that game for PS2. The cell shading is excellent and the story's not too shabby either. The characters are really cool (especially Spider) and it's a change from most Megaman games. When I first bought it, I thought it'd be like the others but to my surprise, it was something different. Very fun game.

All I see is talk of games from PSX and later... Where's the oldschool Megaman love? The nintendo megamans are still some of the finest gaming experiences to date. Hell, the music is good, even though it's only 8 bit sound.

As far as Megaman X goes though, I'd have to say the best was X4. X5 and X6 kinda... went to a weird place, what with the boss levels and two suits of armor, and you already start with one... It just took away from the experience for me.

Also, why does everyone like Zero so much? Other than the fact that he's usually overpowered (especially in X4, where everything but sigma's final form is easier with Zero), he doesn't beat megaman. I mean, come on, it's megaman.
I told him once or twice; to stop playin' cards, and shootin' dice.... he's in the jailhouse now

Megaman X3 was the truth. When X had that Uber armor it was time for domination... Gettin side tracked. Well the thing is i'm gonna have to buy that anneversay addition of those games and relive some old memories. That and I really wanna know when capcom is gonna release the Uber megaman game that links the X series to regular megaman.

megaman is fun, no doubt. but i find it boring when going back to play the old megaman. like after i played megaman x5....and come back and play megaman x4...i realize...i cant crouch!!!! lame. and many other features that are just plain disappointing to go back ...
Well, X5 onward DID have the ability to crouch, but earlier games in the series, namely X4, just felt alot more fun. The stages were alot more clever and memorable, and even though it was cool that you could have different armors in 5 and 6, I hated how you had to complete the armor before using anything from it. I wish that they would have just kept the games like X1-4, where you could use the armor parts that had been acquired at any time.

Also, I'd take pretty much any game ever made over X7 any day...
