Thread: Shadow of the Colossus - PS2 game

has anyone played this game and could they give me the storyline for it or something because I'm trying to write a fanfic about it (yes, it seems stupid without actually playing it). I got the main parts, like, he needs to defeat 16 giant monster things in order to revive this one dead girl, but I don't get the part the shadow things play, ect.

Well, that's mainly the reason I want to write a fanfic, because it will be easy filling in the holes in the plot because there are so many holes! Character, setting, blah, blah, the stuff is already made up for me, so I have to do less thinking. (Do i sound strange?)
I admit that the game lacks much action, except for when it comes to the colossus', but the graphics look awesome.

Dude the games awesome besides just the horse. The games basically about sacrifice. even the horse does that :X

There are 18, not 16, I am on the 11th currently. The game is a bit odd on difficulty, Iwouldn't say it's hard nor easy, you can die on any boss, but you can also beat them without getting scathed at all. He is trying to bring back the soul of this girl at all costs so he is self sacrificing himself, you are killing these collosi who haven't done anything to you at all, after you kill them each time, a black shadow person like in ico appears around your character which he is on the floor(You get teleported back to the temple each time you beat a boss.) But seriously these boss fights are very fun, though odd, Some of the later collosi are smaller, but yet very difficult to defeat. One shoots beams at you, turtle-san =/ not cool, not cool at all, almost kills you if it hits you once directly.

Honestly it is a very good game, I've gotten lucky a few times defeating a few of the bosses. (Somehow getting flipped to the place I need to goto on the turtle boss.) probably the most difficult boss I found as of yet.

Good game, fun, not very addictive, but you feel a sense of accomplishment when you kill the pretty monsters =D

I must say that shawdow is manly the storyline and not so much gameplay, but it's ot that addicting becase thats all there is is beat a collissi and faint then wake up and go after the other one, but it is quite fun when you fight one, you completly feel proud after beating one the graphics are amazing for PS2 and also when you get shot by the lighting blasts or a collssi slams his sword down ((like the third one)) it completly shakes the screen up which it just makes me say "whoa!" but I feel gulity when I kill one, their god resuration's that did nothing really! and apparently they been their for thousunds of years roming the earth and suddinly you come along and just slay them off :/ but recently I been killing them while saying "die you old piece of history!!!!"
