I hate that when I hit a zombie with the handcanon they have the same animation everytime they're hit. It gets whack after a while.

It's been a while since I've played it (got it around when it came out) and currently it's on loan to a friend, but I don't see how you can say it's not survival horror. Sure, there's more shooting, but I died just as much in it as I did in past resident evil games, and since the possibility of death is what makes it surviving, I don't see how you dispute it beloning to that genre. I mean, obviously after you get good at it you don't die nearly as much, but that was the same for me in all the other RE games.
I never actually got the handcannon, because I didn't feel like spending the time to get good at the extra thing, whatever it was called. Plus, the infinite launcher does more single hit damage, and the typewriter could possibly put out more damage, not to mention in a spread, so I really didn't feel I needed it.
That being said, how is the handcannon? Is it clip-loaded or revolver? (I find the idea of .50 cal revolver kinda crazy, but I know there actually are .50 cal revolvers, so yeah)
I told him once or twice; to stop playin' cards, and shootin' dice.... he's in the jailhouse now
this is refering to the posts about the regenerators.
you don't need to use the HandCannon to kill them off, its too tedious.
plus, the rate in which the HC fires is very slow.
there is a much more faster and convenient way to kill these ungodly creatures- and its with the ChicagoTypewriter (the iron maiden has just a bit more stamina but if you can use it on the regen, then this freak will not be an exception)
aim with the CT and just pump lead into its chest. after half-a-sec the regenerator will go boom![]()
comparing to the HC, this will cut the time in half; and comparing to the auto-rifle, well. you know how long that takes.![]()
if any of you are trying out for a speed run, then it is advisable that you don't bother to try to kill off the regenerators (you can easily fake them out [just run towards them and immediatly start walking backwards as soon as you get approx. 2 feet from them the regen should lunge at you and miss; then run past them right after you see them miss])![]()
there are a maximum of 2 situations in which you have to sacrifice half-a-sec to kill off a regenerator, but most of you should already know
im a perfectionist. i try not to waste a second or else it would probably haunt me at the result screen.![]()
I just bought the game and I'm disappointed with the beginning. It's like a b-rated movie -_-
And the rest of the Resident Evil games weren't?Originally Posted by 1cor1313
I just happened to think that the beginning of the game was great. It had just the perfect pacing to introduce you into the game. You're filled with suspense due to the quiet nature of the town, never knowing when there's going to be something waiting for you, then when you make it to the town square, you're immediately thrust into what seems like a hopeless situation, and instantly the adrenaline gets pumping. All you can do is try to survive, severely underequipped, until the town bell rings, after which you're returned to the eerie quiet from before.
It may not be a good introduction to a movie, but then this is a game, not a movie, and it suits its purpose well.
I just didn't like the lines used. and most of the puns are corny.Originally Posted by MadDogMike

All i gotta say is that this game is great.. love the CT and the handcannonBRING ON RE5!!!
Oh, and the storyline is a bit weak.. Not bad, nice and innovative, just a bit weak.
i personally thought that the story was crap in RE4 compared to the previous prototype. where leon was placed in the heart of umbrella.
way better than having him rescue the president's daughter (countless times in which this similar plot has been casted). kind of ticks me off![]()
i would also agree on how the lines and puns are corny. but i tend to skip most of them for sake of completing the game as quickly as possible(*man, i seriously need to get new games -_-;; )
