Sorry, I donīt believe this rumor, well Sony isnīt an innocent child after all, but they wonīt do something this stupid, but Digital Rights Management (DRM) and co could give them the possibility to do so in the future.
Well that's just stupid. So your games will only work on the first console you put it on? What happens if your console breaks? That means that youc an no longer play ANY of your games. No more game borrowing and stuff. That's just retarded.

It's easily feasible to work out. But it's not logical. Besides, it would step on our fair use rights. HOWEVER. They could make something that blocks all pirated games. That would suck for piraters. XD
The patent everyone is basing the "PS3 won't let you play used games" thing on is actually from 1999 when the PS2 was in development. This is a update of that earlier patent for 2003, and actually references 800 mb CDs.
Did the PS2 let you play used games? Of course it did. Will the PS3 let you play used games? Probably.

Actually this is a law in japan. Back in 99 o 2000 they passed a law that you cant buy and sell used games in japan which is really messed up but Im sure as everyone knows thats not the case in america.
What the fuck are you talking about? Japan has a HUGE second hand market for games. It's one of the big troubles the game industry is facing there. You can sell a game back for 80% of the original value.
Rental of games is illegal there.
