Anyone own a DS?
Anyone own a DS?
Did you hear about the FREE WiFi internet thingy that nintendo has been floating around? I thought the DS would be done for cause of the lack of games but DAMN! After the press conference, it makes me actually want to buy one. I wouldnt have bought the PSP either way though.
I own one. Right now the free wifi offer is limited to certain hot spots (as far as I know only japan has them) and cannot be done right in your own home, as of yet. After the DS was released there haven't been many games that I'm drawn to and I'm actually thinking about giving it to my little bro who has been eyeing it ever since I bought it. The soon to be released PSP has caught my attention. The graphics and versatility are appealing, though the price tag isn't.
Raising my fighting spirit.
I think you should stick with it for a while longer. When MarioKart DS comes out you'll be pwning it with your friends. Imagine 8 DS's playing Mariokart, Crazy! Plus no loading times. PSP has em. Gaming on the go shouldnt have loading times. Hehe. Online WiFi does need hotspots. But the WiFi for gaming between handhelds doesnt. Thats awesome.
Wifi offer? whats that? how come i never heard it, eventhough i own a DS? i bought mine in Mekah..it cost me 1000. When actually in my country, it only cost 390+ i regret buying it there... should have waited like eveyone else. Yeah! you'll regeret it if you give it to your bro! has anyone play MAKIN MAGIC XX/XY? i heard it stupid and funny... can't wait to buy that!
Yeah. They say that that game had gotten old. Innovative and funny but not longlasting nor high replayability. Just saying. Their games havent shown any WiFi capabilities yet. When they do though you can connect 8 DS's without any cables and as long as you're within a certain distance from each other.
The DS is the shit! Mario 64 DS is great (since I never played the N64 one). Yoshi's touch and go is fun as hell, and playing all my GBA games on it is a big plus. Though the PSP seems to have alot of promise, I think I will wait about 3 months or so before buying it. As the $ needed for it is not in hand.
DS = PSP the battle continues.
bite my ass
I've had my eye on a DS since Christmas. Unfortunately it just doesn't have the strong release titles that the PSP is going to bring with it. Still, being cheaper, backwards compatible and having the most inovative gaming technology ever makes the DS a lot more attractive to me than the PSP. I have a lot of faith in Nintendo, I think they'll be more than able to hold on to their "King of Handheld Gaming" crown.
I thought the DS isn't offically Nintendo's hand held but another project.Floating around Nintendo are making the next evolution in the Gameboy hand held. That will be the 'King of Hand held Gaming' not even the psp will defeat it.Originally Posted by Chrono
Nintendo will counter with a GBA 2 if the PSP prevails and they have to do it in order to survive.
From my point of view the DS is much better, sure PSP has better graphic, but the software doesnīt look very good, just Ps2 adaptions and sequels, sequels, better graphic.
Graphic is great, but what about GAMEPLAY?
Wait and see the DS will rock, Wario Ware, Feel the Magic, Metroid, Mario 64, Mario Kart DS (but isnt a Nintendo 64 Adaption, its new.)
Castlevania with innovativ touchpad control, a possible Fire Emblem game, Boktai DS, Animal Crossing DS, Meteos, Zelda DS, Advanced Wars DS, Final Fantasy CC, Baten Kaitos.
Donīt know all games who have been confirmed yet.
All GBA Games.
You can chat and play via multiplayer even if just 1 owns the game, I think itīs not possible with PSP.
Nintendo DS is cheaper.
Iīm totally pleased with my DS and Iīm not a fanboy, PSP sounds promising, but I donīt get why I should be a PSP instead of a PS2 or an Ipod...
PSP isnīt a handheld, itīs a little ps2, it isnīt unique from my point of view.
