Black ops was crap.
Title says it all really. I expected a linear game, but I didn't expect it to be so dull or unengaging. There was so little exposition at the beginning of the game that I was under the impression that I was just playing for the sake of it. Sadly I guess the series has fallen into the "shiny sells well to casuals" category (even the boxart is "Gangsta").
I think this game has one of the better single player campaigns of the COD series actually. It's always been about scripted sequences and killing endless waves of enemies, at least this game does it in style. The amazing graphics (on PC), the crossbow and the stealth missions give it extra points. Also, Woods is a complete badass. Solid Snake wishes he could be Woods.
The multiplayer on PC though is a disease ridden steaming pile of crap. So much lag and stuttering makes it nearly impossible to play.
Treyarch < Infinity Ward
Multiplayer on PC is getting much better, most of my issues (except very infrequent performance issues) have been solved. My friends haven't been so lucky, they continue to get stuttering and often have long (2 second plus) pauses.
I think soem of it's related to the match recording service.

As least veteran mode was somewhat challenging. Nothing like ME1 but. Passable.
