Thread: PS3 Slim?

Thoughts? I hate the new bubbly font. They shoulda stuck with the Spiderman font for the "PS3" on the system. Also... its not very slim either... the slim PS2 and PS1 were both pocket sized almost... I hope they re-do it in a couple of years to a similar size. Fuck Sony for no BC either... although their logic is infallible this time, if polls show 90%-100% are buying the PS3 solely for its games, then there really is no reason to cater to a shrinking minority for the PS2 games. The PS3 library is reasonably respectable so meh.

I'm satisfied with my 80GB one with BC.

And I only play PS1 and PS2 games on it.

WHAT IS THIS?! Sure it's more efficient, but it looks ugly imo. I almost want to shoot the person who designed the exterior. Even the ps3 logo looks like shit. And I have no idea why BestBuy is selling the slim ps3 120 gbs for $300, while the old model which is 80 gbs costs $400. Maybe even BestBuy executives realize the new model is so ugly that people would rather buy the "inferior" version.

Edit: I realized it is possible BestBuy may want to deceive idiots who think the bigger price tag is the higher one. That and/or they're too lazy to remove the ad off their site.

I'm not sure what ur talking about Etufo. as far as i know. When the ps3 slim was announced all 80g ps3's became 299 just like the ps3 slim and the 160g ones were 399.

Maybe best buy is being lazy or whatever. As for the ps3 slim, i have to say i'm one of the few people who wants one. I've always had an issue using my 60gig ps3 to play ps2 games. why? because when i pop in a ps2 disc i notice my 60 gig (the oldest generation ps3) gets retardedly hot, like hot enough to turn my room a good 5 degrees hotter. If the ps3 slim is designed with proper ventilation i have no problems picking one up in the future. as of right now i'm content using my 60 gig ps3 for ps3 games, but to watch my 60 gig ps3 overheat from a ps2 game is just too much of a shame, thats why i have a ps2, let my ps2 take some of the burden.

I like the gloss exterior of the old one. Other than that, meh. I can always upgrade the HDD in my fat PS3.

Apparently Sony is back to losing money on the PS3. ut they make it up and more w/ software and peripherals. So yay.

Ick. That matte texture is the only appealing factor IMO. I remember taking my Playstation3 out of the box for the first time and immediately foreseeing the scratches, fingermarks and dust that shit attracts and keeps.
I'm happy the stupid Spiderman font is gone too.

It really doesn´t matter that much to me, as I have the old one, but I think that the new PS3... doesn´t look good. I think the design is supposed to look efficient and as basic as possible, to make the buyer think of it as an kind of economic purchase.
ut the original, first PSX looked that way without being that unsightly, it even looked pretty good.
This time sony did a bad job (a well but I hate them anyway, wouldn´t even use their consoles if I wouldn´t hate nintendo and microsoft just as much)
