SC2 nbt supporting LAN *gasp*

Honestly, I think this is a dumb idea. LAN parties rule especially when you know that you're pwning the person right beside you. It's just not the same if you don't see the person you're pwning.

Blizzard thinks people will just connect to Battle.net to play against their friends, even when at a LAN. Well fuck you, Blizzard, because I have to put up with 1 second of lag MINIMUM on Battle.net in every Blizzard game, even when playing against someone who lives 10 minutes away. Even World of Warcraft's Australian servers are hosted in America...

Diablo 2 is unplayable for me on Battle.net unless I'm spamming Frozen Orb. If Diablo 3 doesn't have lan play, heads will roll.

Yeah that's the same thing that the people said in the other thread. I never tried B.Net before but from all the hype that i read from the article comments i pretty much assume that the gaming over B.net is bad (or worse).

I don't mind so much, I rarely ever use LAN, I play battle.net frequently and for warcraft 3: frozen throne, it's pretty good. There will be a few other players lagging, but my connection is great. I usually host though, and if someone is lagging really bad, I just boot them.

For WC3:FT, there are third party bnet hosting programs, such as listchecker (LC) that DRASTICALLY gets rid of delays.
Delays in an LC game on bnet are typically under .25s for me.
They feel like I'm almost playing in a LAN game.

Second up is Ghost hosts/bots, their delay is typically around .5 sec.

Regular Bnet games are always AT LEAST 1 sec.
