Yeah I didn't see it coming either.

At the Sont Keynote, everybody thoght Jack Trenton got his numbers wrong. Then he showed the trailer, then every body said WTF. FFXIII isnt even out yet, and people are still playin ( i think) FFXI, I dont see the point in it.

I like how you have no idea how the video games industry works.

MMOs have a long life cycle and are a ludicrously lucrative segment. With the announcement of Guild Wars 2, the soon-to-come Lineage III, the upcoming Blizzard MMORPG that's not WoW and the smaller ones (Aion, APB, The Agency, etc), every company need to start building hype for their product. Squeenix can't afford to sit back and let the others gain market share.

If you are so annoyed at the idea of FFXIV, why don't you just ignore it or call it FF Online II? Would that make you feel better?

-On top: The video didn't load so I simply searched out others and, as such, I wanna make sure of something: Is there no gameplay footage as of yet? (Not even "simulated", alpha-level, doesn't-really-reflect-the-final-product footage?)

Thanks for the link. I've just recently found out about it and to see the moving graphics...I wonder how the gameplay would be.
