Thread: Plama or LCD for gaming

My flat mate is moving out and taking his flatscreen with him. I guess it's about time I invested in some sort of HD tv. I'm just wondering whether to go for Plasma or LCD. I've heard that some plasma screens have a slight lag which can affect gaming.

Anyways, I'm just wondering what everyone out there is using and how it handles the games. I'll be using my PS3 for the most part.

Plasma displays suffer from burn-ins relatively easily.

LCD, cheaper too.

What size TV are you looking for?

I don't need a massive screen, so probably between 32 and 40 inch. I've been checking some of the LCDs on offer and the Sony Bravia X-series ones keep popping up.

I used my Wii/Ps2 on my plasma, there was a slight lag, it was really annoying and made some games that need pinpoint controls (guitar hero, for instance) all but unplayable, plus the whole burn in thing, if your playing a game with a health meter, expect to see it for 10 min afteryou stopped playing...Im sure theres a way to fix the lag but it wasnt really worth the headache for me, i just switched to another tv

Sony Bravia eh? I don't like buying Sony products as you will generally pay almost double just for their brand name being on the front of it. Personally I'm a big fan of the Samsung TVs. My friend bought a 40" Samsung M8 series TV a year ago, and it was by far the best TV I had seen at the time for gaming (and is still awesome even today). I just bought myself a 40" Samsung Series 6 a week ago too, and I love it.

I have a 46" LG full hd LCD, and a ( i think its 42" or so ) plasma, and my xbox 360 plays better on the LCD. And I just bought an Samsung 46" LCD (http://www.recommendedbuys.co.uk/ele...g-le46a856.htm) for 550$ and it looks nice as hell. The picture is really clear. So I would go with an LCD

Also, Series 8?! Series 7 only just reached Australia.
