Let me find it. I saved the game something around 200 times. On different files.

Found a save right at the end of the Taft Tunnels, around 10 hours, only level 8. God, that's actually near the end of the main quest but I had almost 100 saves after it. Go figure. Emailing it.

You know, the more I play Fallout 3, the more I think it's not Fallout.

In Fallout 1, you could TALK your way past super mutants (Larry, Barry, Henry, etc) by TRICKING them and get the water chip. Heck, you can destroy BOTH the Military Base and the Cathedral (thus, the Master) without even having to engage in combat.

In Fallout 2, you can be a GIGOLO and a PORN STAR. You can kill Frank Horrigan (final boss at the Enclave area) by re-programming the defense turrets to kill him.

Basically, in previous Fallout games, you could have almost no weapon skills and the games would still allow you to play in YOUR way.

It's Oblivion with guns, not Fallout.

MM about weapon skills no about options yes.
I was running with no weapon skills (all in speech, then repair, then something else and at the end small weapons). And still without any weapon skills I killed my enemies without any problem (sometimes I was low on amo at the beginning (didnt buy any from shops)). And hmmm how would I say that. 100speech sometimes is cool sometimes is not. It gives you ability to get trust from npc and you dont need to run like shit to find xyz for him or do yzx but thats all.
Mmmm I will probably go to shop and buy the bulk of fallout 1 2 and tactics to see how is it.

Still more evidence, the game is dull when you play the story, isn't when you don't, just like.................. (wait for it).................. Oblivion. Bring on the mods and expansions.

To be fair it (and that other game) have a large degree of a leeway in the way you approach things, just not quite the same amount as other fallout games. I'm still enjoying it though.

You are probably right in oblivion I was doing anything but story quests. Either it was collecting relicts or doing missions ro assasins/mages/warriors/theft or any other guild I did them, same to shivering isles. And thats why probably I think that it was short. If im correct then you can end the game in 1-2 hours just go from vault 101 to vault 112 and then do the geck/enclave and finito. Just you need some skill to defeat enemies at lvl 4-5 no actualy you dont need skills, cause I was mechanic/speecher without any gun skills and still hadnt any problem :P.
