Ehh...I'm going to look like a huge dork for this but I'm a huge fighting game fan so I've played pretty much every fighting game on consoles including pretty much every version of Naruto fighting games since either my little brother got it or a friend does, and well...it's a fighting game. >_> That said I'll reply to these comments.

I dunno, to me, the gameplay videos look kinda campy, but I'm kinda biased here so...yea. Graphics seem a bit aged for a next-gen console game.
Different game with dif mechanics. One is 2D type fighting but with less movelists(sorta like smash bros.), other is 3D with more mobility and open area(Soul Calibur with more spacing and long range attack).

Naruto games in general have always had the longer battles. There are points to using the subsequent attacks since they can stop combos and do a bit more than regular attacks. Special attack in the Playstation version games have 3 different levels with each draining a certain amount of your special bar gauge, doing a different amount of damage and could actually be blocked. Only the GC, Wii, and 360 versions couldn't be blocked. Graphically I'd disagree since what last gen game produced a cell shading game as polished and detailed? The 360 version when even that one looked great and 100 times better than any other game did before. I'm not so sure what you're expecting.

It looks almost the same but more detailed and polished.

360 (Fingers are sorta smugged together and less shadowing affects)

PS3 (you can see the water splash upward as the move)

360 (really dark, lots of jaggys all over the place)

PS3 (the color is a lot more bold and shadows more apparent)

Aside from that I remember the 360 one being seriously broken since Rock Lee was nearly unbeatable and the fighting in general was extremely slow. Plus the fact that there were only a handful of characters in the game. I'm not sure why'd you expect combos to look different, it's their signature movies, they're nearly identical in every one of those games. I certainly don't remember the Naruto specials to be the same, but the one Kakashi did was pretty much the same. It just seems like nearly every Naruto game jammed into one, has the GC/Wii spacing and roaming around the stage, PS2 dashing, assist, and collecting chakra in order to build up the special gauge as well as items, and 360's charging chakra. although I don't remember does the 360 version let you fight battles on the sides of walls? Anywho there are differences.

Sorta looks the same, but plays completely different.

But each game is free to set it's own pace. I like to play smash bros a lot and those matches can take a long time or a very short time.

I liked some of the gamecube naruto games. The PS2 games were ok. Haven't played the 360 or Wii ones so I don't know what this one is gonna be like.
As far as fighting games each had there goods and bads. 360 could've/is the best since it does have online, a sort of unique way of doing specials as well as a story mode that lets you actually go roam around the world, but since it was sorta broken and had so little characters it was sorta meeeh. Nintendo versions had baaaad camera angles and at times really shitty controls, but it did have 4 players and sometimes you could do lots of combos. Playstation versions were a bit too button mashers at times and their life bar did go down very slowly as well as lots of people could just stall to prolong their deaths... but at the same time it did have a huge character roster list, fast paced, items to use to fight with, assists, different ways of doing each special character stats boosting, minigames and a shit ton of collectible items which weren't always that great since lots of them were just dumb.

I've just played too many fighting games, sometimes too much for my own good... >_>

I think they should have gone with an adventure/RPG instead, since the PvP is kinda over used with Naruto games >_>
I think I remember one RPG game with Naruto, but I heard it sucked =/

Though I have always wanted to own a Naruto game >_<

@vphamv: You make good points, except for 2 things:

    1. The Xbox 360 version is not dark. You picked a screenshot of a level that's set deep within the forests of death, of course it's supposed to be darker than the open plains PS3 level.
    2. The Xbox 360 version has better anti-aliasing, I'm seeing a lot more jaggies around the character models in the PS3 version than in the Xbox 360 version. So much, in fact, that it's messing with the black outlines on the characters.

Pick better screenshots for comparison. These maybe:

    http://xbox360media.ign.com/xbox360/...5011450368.jpg

Most of the screenshots on the net are of the adventure mode though, so they're sort of hard to find.

Oh yeah, I got the name of the X360 version wrong, it was actually Naruto: Rise of a Ninja. I don't know how I did that, considering I own the game. :S

the cellshading in ninjastorm is done so much better imo than rise of a ninja, or any dbz game to date.

Because when i first saw the trailer to this game, i was actually like, "wow, that looks so close to the anime!" As oppose to Rise of a ninja, i couldn't really say that. Still looked great, but not nearly as good. Same with the dbz games.

@mike- yeah for the most part I couldn't find any high res pictures of actual battle fights, there were mostly the dumb story mode thing so I decided not to post it. Which was quite surprising considering how long it's been since the game was released... D:

Also looking back at some of the other screens for the new game there is a lot more jaggys, but I see them more in the cutscene than in actual battle.

Although there is that flaw imo it still just looks better, can't pinpoint what it is exactly but ehhh. Also maybe this is a better video.

Alright I'm done talking about this game til it actually comes out and if I actually get my hands on playing it. I feel so wrong for simply trying to defend a Naruto game... x.=

Cell shading always looks bad to me because they don't have variable line thickness. Well maybe Okami does...

    IMO, Cell Shading = win.

Faster loading times(If any), and I just like the look overall. I think they're doing a great job on UN:Storm. The demo is great, though the CPU is insanely easy, quite a joke. There's much more to do with this style of battle than in the others, including(that sad character roster on) Rise of a Ninja, and Ultimate Ninja X. This is much more detailed and more balanced. Naruto is great in the demo, Itachi more than likely won't be overused in this one as he is in the others(With the exception of Rise of a Ninja, because he still isn't in it).
