    Default Dragon Ball Online

An Online game based on the famed Dragon Ball series is currently been developed simultaniously by Japan and Korea NTL Inc.

Bandai Korea and CJ internet officialy anounced that DragonBall Online is expected to be launched in Korea before the end of 2008 at the latest and is set for 2009 launch in Japan.

Here is the first official trailer ever:
YouTube - Exclusive DragonBall Online Gameplay Preview!

The game is not a casual game, but a MMORPG, its set 250~ years after the original series (About year 1000 on DB Caledar)

Akira Toriyama himself (Creator of the series), has been keeping an eye on the creation of the game.

Lots have been put, you will have the ability to join in PVP (Player vs Player) Battles, and even join the fabled WORLD TOURNAMENT!

Know characters will be there as NPCs (Non player characters) to guide you and help.

The character creation, is rich and offer much to customize your character.

    Here are some screen shots:

    Seems will be interesting~

If it has all the sparks that City of Heroes/Villans, has and with a little more depth I think will be a great game!!

    NO. Just no. GODDAMNIT.

I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

The character design choices look lame. It's just mix-n-match existing Dragonball character body parts. Then again, that's all Akira Toriyama ever does, so I guess you could say it's accurate...

How is this supposed to be set 250 years after Dragonball when you can clearly see Goku, Piccolo and Trunks as NPCs in the 4th pic?

EDIT: It's using the WoW engine? It has the exact same interface.

Sayajins have extended life spans, so do namekians, thats why you seem them.. (now if you see Krillin then we would have a plot hole!)
I checked here on the oficial site isn't 250 years, but exactly 216 years, to make the game set on the year 1000.. after goku left on the year 784 to train Uub, the game also do not consider the events occured durring the "GT" saga.

About character designs, the ones you see are made by players, just like any Avatar on any mmos out there, so maybe you can you can make one that isn't as lame as you think~ The character creation is pretty rich, and gives you lots of choices, I'll not say its better then City of Heroes or Perfect world, but is definately better then WOW's!
But one of the features is that you can create a kid character that will grow overtime.

Ow yea, 3 races: Humans, Nameks and Majins (buu race~) No Sayians. (Just two sayains left in the universe, and both male~ )

I'm not sure about the engine.. but yes the interface does remind of all big mmorpgs out there, not limited to wow..
Lineage II, WoW, Silkroad, Everquest II, Age of Connan, Lord of the rings.. Kinda all 'bout the same. Although got to say its pratical!

    Back to the races, you also will have control over some apperances and skills;
    Like:
Namekians you can be more like piccolo, or dende
Majins you can be slender looking like evil boo or fat looking

That influence on your class choice: kinda like wow, lineage.. a tauren can't be paladin, a dark elf has their special classes and such.

here it is the original website:

    @SD;
    Game doesn't look that bad.

I just watched the video again and noticed some text on the screen near the end which said something like "Time machine mission" and it also showed a space capsule hitting the ground with Raditz getting out of it, so I guess they're going to make players go through fights from the actual DBZ story at times. I have no idea how that's meant to make sense...

It sounds like a better explanation than a Saiyan/Namekian living for over 200 years though. I haven't heard that anywhere in the series, but it's been a long time since I watched it so I could be wrong.

Maybe if someone could translate what is said on the original website i'm sure its should enlighten us more about it.

And I can tell you why Elcura:
You can fly and shoot lazers!

City of heroes has that spark! That you go, OMG! FLY~ Super speed!!! all that shit, and its fun!
But the game itself gets borring fast without much content.

So this one has the potential to be just as fun as CoH, but with content! (Aside from being DBZ themed) (And energy blaster is no different then a sayajin)

Sad thing is it will probably sell with the Dragonball name and ripped off WoW gameplay mechanics.
