However the payout is that you'll be invincible and nothing will ever touch you, not to mention Royal Block and Royal Release gives you crazy amounts of style points.

Guns for damage is kind of what it's always been, crowd control and some style upkeep when you're at a distance. However, with Pandora you can do some real crazy damage in Gunslinger mode (not counting the missile battery, that sucks) and in general with the laser cannon. That's about all I like it for.

Swordmaster/Darkslayer are good for obvious reasons. The only gripe I have with this game is after playing with Nero playing Dante becomes weird, then after playing Dante playing Nero becomes weird. But I'd rather play Dante constantly than Nero.
the true I think I'm better with Nero than with Dante, when I used Nero I never had to use a healing potion, but with Dante I use them all the time (until I got Pandora, Lucifer, and Gilgamesh) now I just use my laser and erase my enemies from sight : )
Life is all about how much power you have.

Pandora is really fucking satisfying, when you bust out the Xbow, tap it around and bust out the rocket launcher, wiggle it around some more and bust out a huge fricken' lazer cannon and blast enemies into oblivion.

you don't even need gunslinger to own with pandora. lucifer is a great support weapon, just fling some swords around and switch to rebellion/gilgamesh and you'll get some good style in no time.

ok, so after about a week i finally got back into dmc4 and beat it. w00t for a badass ending. I like how dante leaves in style.

also who actually likes nero as a character?

I for one do, i think he's like a young dante. Cocky, proud, boastful attitude. I honestly wouldn't mind playing him again in the future (like future dmc games).

I would only want to play as Nero again in a sequel if they gave him different weapons to use. I only realised how much more fun Dante was to use when it swapped back to Nero right at the end of the game and I felt like my fighting options were limited all of a sudden.

Yeah, Nero is restricted in that you instantly know, once you start a combo that your options are limited. I didn't like Nero at the start of the game, but he did actually grow on me (the part where he gives Dante the finger was awesome). I think Capcom are planning on building his character up more in the next games. Though if they do something similar as DMC4 I hope they give the characters equal parts.

But I think this game was perfect to introduce Nero. As he strikes me as the kind of character that is budding and is challenged by a lot as it stands. You could tell Dante (and Trish for that matter) didn't take the whole situation seriously, it's the kind of things they deal with all the time. Dante's only serious fights have been Mundus and Virgil so far, so it would be nice to see a case that actually has Dante challenged and worried.

Dante needs more parts than Nero...

=\ I wish that chick from DMC3 actually had a part in this game cause, for a game character, she looked pretty hot.

for good reason. for a DMC game it's awful. But for an action game it isn't that bad, you could in fact do a lot worse.

Basically, you've got to destroy all the blue crystals on its body. There's a few different ways you can do it:

    - When he slams his arms onto your platform, jump on them and run up his arm destroying the crystals on the way. Repeat for both arms. Another way to do this, if you get the chance, is to activate one of those machines that shoots a blue beam out to hold his arms in place.
    - If you find and activate a machine on one of the higher platforms to shoot large blue fireballs at the saviour, it will stun him for about a minute. Use this time to run around behind him and destroy the crystal on his back, as well as any others you come across.
    - When he starts shooting his super laser at you, try to lure him to shoot it towards one of the lowest platforms, then race to the right to get to the highest platform before he finishes shooting it (should only be two jumps away). Then he will rise slowly up to your platform from below, giving you a few good seconds to activate devil mode and beat the crap out of the crystal on his chest.
    - I never found an easy way to get one of the crystals on his legs, so i just activated devil mode and shot the crap out of it with Ebony & Ivory. It takes a while, but by this point his attacks should be so easy to dodge that you can just shoot away for as long as you like without getting damaged at all. Pandora might be better for this, but I hadn't upgraded it by that time.
