Graphically it doesn't stand up to many of the other games that have been released this gen, even launch titles.

Capcom misses the ball on potentially great games consistantly...
it's a demo of an early version. and you can control the camera, but when you lock on it's automatic. and the combination of on the fly style and weapon switches makes me very excited to play this game.

and uh ohhhhh, teh grafix aren't good enough! you don't even notice the graphics when you're playing and in the thick of it all. The graphics have gotten a great boost, but the gameplay even more so.

I pretty much agree with everything you say here. Not sure if event played the same demo i played, but i thought the demo was freaking awesome. So can't wait for this game to come out in a few days.

    ^ Is that Miss Korea?

I'm just saying only die hard DMC fans are gonna hail this one as a step foward in the series, the same people that thought part 2 was good, the reviews from groups that matter ain't so hot either, issueing many of complaints I had in fact.

Agreed. I bought DMC4 today and I really like it. It reminds me of DMC1 more than anything, with much improved graphics and gameplay. I like the feeling of weight behind Nero's sword swings. The sword combos are more fun this time too, and the devil-bringer adds a few new interesting moves to mix into your combos.

The exceed system is really not useful in the middle of a frantic fight, but does make for some cool looking moves and flashy special effects. I usually just leave it charged up before a fight, unleash a few powerful moves at the beginning of the fight to give me an advantage, then fight the regular way for the rest of it. It is very good for boss fights though, where you want to keep your distance most of the time and just run in for a few quick, hard hits.

I think the graphics are very nice. While they're not the best I've seen, they're certainly not ugly. I like the fact that they've dropped a few special effects in return for high framerates and anti-aliasing.

Overall, I think the game turned out very good.

@ event: Who are these "groups that matter"?

You know you can exceed mid combo right? If you time it right you can get a full lamp in a single swing which powers up your next and if you're really good you can keep exceed going through entire combos.

I tried experimenting with exceed during combos, but I never managed to pull that off yet (or I just didn't notice it). Regular combos do enough damage that you don't need to rely on using exceed anyway.

I will try it out again next time I play though, even though the normal combos are powerful enough there's nothing wrong with more power.

Timing is pretty precise (even more so with Max-Act to get a full 3 lamps). But once you get the basic timing down you'll be Exceeding effortlessly. Also, it helps to pull off some of the cooler moves (like Max-Act > Triple High Roller etc).

    So cool...
