Wrong. Nintendo said A Link to the Past is after Ocarina, so OoT > MM > LttP. I don't know about the other ones. Again, i can't remember when or where i read that.

And it makes sense, you seal Ganondorf in Ocarina and beat him in the other world in LttP.
    Greetings earthlings.

Ocarina of Time is confirmed to be the first game in the timeline.

Go read the scans that Kaom posted, specifically the ones related to the story.

I thoroughly believe that most mods in this site suck.

Here's an idea of the Zelda Chronology

    http://nz.youtube.com/watch?v=RXN1BF65WjI

Link is probably a reincarnation. Zelda is not...

In her royal family all daughters are named Zelda, that why you keep seeing her pop up in all of the games... well most of them i Haven't played all of them. (it says so in the link referring to Zelda 2 (very old game lol))

It's pretty obviously all the Zeldas are related by blood but what about Link? I wonder...

As for the Chronology of the Zelda games, only the makers of the game know, all we can do is guess and link all the pieces of the puzzle together as best we can.

I like Majora's Mask the best out of every 3D zelda game, but you probably wouldn't get as much out of it without playing Ocarina Of Time beforehand.

I think the best 2D Zelda Game is Link's Awakening though I haven't played The Minish Cap or any game before the SNES

This may help. It seems there's Multiple Timelines.

In the instruction booklet for The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past it is revealed that this particular Link is an ancestor of the Link from the original NES games. Also the Nintendo 64 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time does the same thing in relation to the SNES Link. Also, In "The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker" it mentions that the flooded Hyrule is a result of "the hero" going on an adventure in another kingdom, possibly alluding to the child Link from Ocarina of Time's adventure in Termina in "Majora's Mask." It is not known how much time has passed in Hyrule between each of these games.
So this is saying Ocarina > Link to the Past. > NES

    And

    Ocarina > Majora's > Wind Waker
In an interview conducted by Nintendo Dream with Eiji Aonuma in December 2006, he mentioned that there exists two different Zelda universes.

The split in the timeline occurs during Ocarina of Time, when, at the end of the game, Link is sent back in time by Princess Zelda. Once returned to his original time, Link goes to see her again, and the result of this meeting is an alternate future in which the villain Ganondorf is arrested and tried by the ancient sages, which causes him to be banished to the Twilight Realm; Twilight Princess then occurs over one hundred years after the Ocarina of Time child Link's era. Meanwhile, The Wind Waker occurs in the "adult Link" timeline, hundreds of years after the adventure of the adult-Link in the future of Ocarina of Time.
Timeline splits. Ocarina > Twilight Princess.

Young Link goes to Termina looking for Navy? > Ocarina's screwed up time > Wind Waker.

    From: http://www.zeldauniverse.net/general...ne-theory.html

Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of the Zelda series, did state a timeline in an interview with Nintendo Power some time before the release of Ocarina of Time, and it went like this:
" Ocarina of Time is the first story, then the original Legend of Zelda, then Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, and finally A Link to the Past. It's not very clear where Link's Awakening fits in--it could be anytime after Ocarina of Time. "
    However:

His theory is of course very outdated, and the fact that he never defended his theory with any sort of facts of evidence is often considered to be proof that this was just in fact something he threw out in the open without giving it much thought. However some theorists base their theories around this statement even today.

I'm kinda confused now. Mainly because of the Majora's intervention...

Edit: Even more confused now, i read Kaom's scans.
