You see his uncle in A Link to the Past. I'll dig out my old instruction booklet (I still own my SNES >_>) and scan it when I get home from work tomorrow - I remember there being an illustration of his uncle in there. Link definitely wasn't a kid in that game, either. Maybe a teenager, but I think he looked fairly old(ish).

Edit - No wait, Wind Waker has his little sister and grandmother.
wow, thanks for the fishing tip. i've been meaning to stay away from gamefaq and attempt to finish the game by myself (walkthroughs can really take the fun out of a game), but the fishing thing really helps.
Ocarina of Time's and Majora's Mask's Link was also the same.
@hadou: I do not think we've ever seen Link's biological parents (of any of Link's many incarnations).
Aieee!!! the Nerd has her!

Although, someone else probably already has and I'm wasting my time...then again, I never did find the exact Midna screenshots I wanted from Twilight Princess, so maybe not everyone is this hopeless. (If anyone knows a good site, I'm all ears, by the way.)
Ah so in LOTP it was his uncle, was never really solid in my memory and you my dear a re a goddess among geeks.

On that note GAAAAH I forgot they didnt have him wearing tights in that booklet.
Yeah Dante it was just me being fuzzy on it.
Also anyone remember if in twilight princess gannon got out of imprisonment or was he just in the twilight relm as a sort of omnipresent being...might clarify the true order of things.
But I wonder with the ending Wind Waker gave how do you think they will proceed with the zelda franchise if ever?
In the twilight princess he had been sealed into the twilight realm, or atleast with the mirror. How he later got his power in it, or what happened for the time he was there is not explained.
Your discussion about Link's age intrigues me. Looking at the scans Kaom posted I think it's safe to say that he's post-pubescent.
This is an advertisement for Zelda on the NES. He looks pretty young to me.
This is the cover to the Nintendo-endorsed official manga of Link's Awakening DX published by Kobunsha a subsidiary of Kodansha. Not persuasive at all since we probably all remember the stormy opening sequence of Link's Awakening in which we see him as identical to how he was in Link to the Past, but still fun.
However in the Oracle GBC games we can quite clearly see that he is considerably younger.
Here's what looks like some official artwork of The Legend Of Zelda 2: The Adventure Of Link. He looks as old as he does in twilight princess / adult form in OOT.
So basically there's a pretty even spread of ages.
