the storylines usually differ, but the plot usually stays basically the same. I am pretty sure the DS game is the sequal to the wind waker (story wise). then again, I only played the wind waker demo <.<

I'm pretty sure he isn't a kid in the GBC ones, at least - he does look like an adult in the promo pictures. Besides, there's no mention of him being a kid. I've only seen that in the N64/GameCube ones (not including Twilight Princess). Of course, "adult" Link is still a teenager...

Eh, the basic "Ganon is taking over Hyrule and Princess Zelda wants you - Link - to save the world" one. Some of the games flow into each other; some don't. Apparently, there's a chronology of Ocarina of Time --> Majora's Mask --> Twilight Princess --> Wind Waker --> Phantom Hourglass(?), but only the first two actually use the same Link and are very connected (really - you even have the same character appearances in MM. I loved it). Twilight Princess and Wind Waker reference the first game but apparently take place a really long time later.

It's stated in... somewhere, that Link 'reincarnates' whenever the land needs him. So is Zelda. Ganondorf is the same in many games.

Ocarina of time > Majora's Mask (No Ganon here though) > A Links to the Past.

In Ocarina he is sealed in the other realm, in A Link to the Past you kick his ass in that world.

I have barely played the GBC ones, but i think somewhere in Nintendo i read that he's generally a kid (as in, 5-12 years old). I can't put it fully as a fact but that's what i know.
    Greetings earthlings.

Okay, I needed a little help on the pull-the-cord-and-run thing in the fourth dungeon, but really...

    Now A Link to the Past, that was hard. I couldn't even get TO the first dungeon in the GBA remake that I played. >_>;;
Haha, I suck at puzzle games in general. And I wanted to get Lv. 2 sword an shield and everything...yea. Last boss fight was ridiculously easy though. Dungeon two was harder than that...

^ Actually I think Link and Zelda just constantly get reincarnated every few generations, and since I always remembered Gannondorf only getting sealed in a link to the past(been forever since I played) I figured he was just constantly gettign sealed but if what you said is true then he was reincarnated in Ocarina of time, every game after that it was him breaking out of his seal until well.... if you havnt played THAT one then A curse on you.

Personally I would like to play the one where Gannondorf won or at least see HOW he did.

Ewww, screen rape. Maybe I'll reconsider - I'm sure it's a great game, but I've actually poked the screen instead of using the stylus on occasion. I just hate it that much.
I remember seeing the comic that came with the instruction manual on one of the nes or snes games and he wasnt a kid, young but definately not a child...which always confused me how the Link in WW ended it while everyone ELSE could only seal up the jerk.

And I didn't rape my screen at all while playing. Since it is a Ds zelda game it isnt as long as all the others, and honestly about the only thing you could possibly "rape" your screen on is in the fishing but if you look on game faqs somone made a fairly safe way to play that mini game. All in all if you dont bash your screen like a maniac while playing it wont damage it at all, as usually a simple tap gets the job done.

In terms of the newer ones yeah Eon got it but I know the original nes games and the game boy games conect to them as well I jsut don't know in what order(at the very least it's Zelda, Link, A link to the past, Ocarina of time, Majoras mask, Twilight princess, Wind Waker, and then Phantom Hourglass)

You sillies, in all the games you mentioned (Oracle of Ages/Seasons, A Link to the Past), it describes Link as the BOY with the Triforce on his hand. (or Mark of the Hero, whatever)

^True but the mere fact that Zelda is always from the royal bloodline/family and link is always from some obscure part of the world kinda make it more than coincidence that they are merely some random choosen ones.....hmmm come to think of it how many of the zelda games do we actually see links biological father/mother. I can only think of possibly 2.

Adult Link = teenager = still okay to describe him as a boy. He's clearly not the small boy that he is in Ocarina of Time, where the time gap is obvious.

In the Oracle games, Link randomly got transported to some other places... I'm guessing it was supposed to be from Ocarina of Time, but I don't really think they introduced that into the story. Even Zelda and Ganon didn't appear unless you played both games, and I never did...

As posted before all the Links and Zeldas are reincarnated, however Ganondorf has always been the same one since the "first" Zelda. Not sure how the whole time line works... But I think it's something like this:

    (Adult Link timeline)
Ocarina of Time> Majora's Mask> Wind Waker> (maybe) Link to the Past> Oracle of Ages/Seasons> Legend of Zelda> Link's Adventure

    or
(Young Link timeline [Think towards the end of the game])
Ocarina of Time> Majora's Mask> Twilight Princess> (maybe) Link to the Past> Oracle of Ages/Seasons> Legend of Zelda> Link's Adventure

    ^Thanks Yoko^
