    Default The Witcher - impressions

    Hi, I'm thinking about getting CD Projekt's The Witcher. I've heard good things about it and seen some nice screenshots, but I'm still unsure - my PC will barely run it, if it can manage it at all, so if I get into it I'll need to be sure it's good.

    Has anyone here tried it? What do you think?

    I haven't tried it but I've seen the screen shots and it looks pretty nice.

    The game really is nice, i played it until it grilled my video card and enjoyed it , its quite heavy on the pc so if u can reach only minimum reqs i dont recomend it , I only finished chapter 2 but it was awsome , nice atmosphere , story line and graphics , its abit linear but its not a problem if you ask me, the only bad thing is the loading times. Now im waiting for my new video card so i could continue playing. Hope it wont grill the new one

    I went to GameStop yesterday and I saw it. The cover looked really cool so I was thinking of buying it but I bought WoW game cards for a friend's Bday instead. How's the..I can't find the word I'm looking for....well, how's the fighting/battle mode?

    The fighting system is kind of unique and its really fun , its really good for an rpg
    the combat in certainly not a clickfest , basicly your character has 3 types of fighting styles , the Strong one to kill large enemies ,the Swift one for fast enemies, and the group for the weak ones. At first the combat seems a bit hard but when u get used to its it quite fun. The combat is more like a a timing mini game here, you click on the mob then u strike wait for the cursor (crosshair) to change color and then strike.So when fighting u wont just click the damn enemies to death or click once and wait fore them to die. Theres also a magic (symbol?) system in the game but i did not really used it so i can't say much about it. The fighting animations are very nice, the cutscenes are also greatly done.If you are into rpg's this game is a must imo .And the only problem like i said before is the loading times, but the developers promised a huge performence increase and lesser loading times on the next patch (wich should be out some time by now).
