Seriously, WoW is nothing about your character having a background or storyline.
WoW is all about leveling up from 1-70, getting epics, learn to be obsessed with the tiniest numbers (yes, 0.2% more crit is a humongous deal and that extra 12 resilience will help you survive a second longer in an arena battle) and pleasure every honourable kill and camp the guy who ganked your alt for hours.
It has a huge fan base because it's addictive for the reasons I just stated. Every seasoned WoW player should know that.

WoW's "story" makes no sense. Why are the Blood Elves aiding the Horde against Illidan Stormrage the Betrayer and the Burning Legion when their beloved leader Kael'Thas Sunstrider is a Chief Lieutenant of the Legion at the service of the Eredar Sargeras?

Why do the Horde have Druids? Why are their female Night Elf Druids!?

thats why maybe the reason why i believe i can't get into WoW. I'm sure it fun and all, but if i put so much time into something, i'd appreciate a good storyline and everything. I've stated that a few times to my friend and she's like "no it has a good story line...blah, blah, blah."

...so maybe girls do see it differently? ...but no way. Agreed with jyuu, lies and more lies.
