Thread: Anyone here play Metal Slug?

It's pretty much the best 2D sidescroller series out there, with unrivaled graphics, fun as hell gameplay, and humorous to boot. I feel games like Metal Slug are really what gaming is all about, and that's to make you have a whole ton of fun playing them.

My personal fave would be MS 2, which was epic. But MS 3 is really good too, if only the last level wasn't so drawn out (and somewhat ugly looking).

My only problem with it is that once you're done beating a Metal Slug game, your brain is fried because of all the explosions and stuff, and the head feels heavy. Also, you may feel that the floor you are standing on is not altogether stable. The game is very brain stimulating, and I don't mean it causes you to think, I mean it wears you out with all the explosions and flashing lights (all of which look really great btw, best animations on a 2D game and whatnot). But hey, I guess it's a small price to pay for the blast you have playing these games.

Metal slug is awesome, girls love it, it's like contra with infinite life.
I had a good laugh at MS3 (was it 2 or 3?) because of the ID4 parody in it.

I like Metal slug too. I even got the Metal slug collection but I haven't tried the 3d one though. I always use Fiona if my brother didn't beat me to her. ^^

I didn't just played it - I owned it I remember when I first saw Metal Slug..it was in my favourite arcade, near bowling center - I spent a lot of money on this machine..

^ah the arcade one. I remember you only have 3 lives there and the difficulty is at maxed. man if you were able to beat the arcade version. then you really have spent a fortune in Metal Slug. I can only survive up to the second mission with one token. >_<"

Dude, everything is like clockwork in Metal Slug. I could beat the second game with one token back in the day. Even memorized most of the secrets and what not. It's all about experience, and knowing how to abuse certain aspects of the game.

Dude, and I was always getting off those games wondering if anyone could single credit them...

oh yes metal slug so many great times at the arcade, but now its coming out for the DS! Finally a metal slug for the road. <_< also way better than gunstars...just saying....

Hopefully they don't incorporate some retarded gimmick using the touch screen, just give us a good old Metal Slug game, no gimmicks!!!
