Anyone else tried the demo?
It's UNBELIEVABLE.
It has reset my bar of what makes a shooter good.

I'm annoyed, I started downloading last night and went to bed think it would have finished by the time I woke up, but its just stuck at 80%.
EDIT:
Its been 17 hours now and its at 97%!
^
isnt it like 1.3 gigs?
...but too bad this game will be overshadowed by the likes of Halo 3. =\
(not implying that halo 3 > bioshock)
Well after 17.5 hours downloading, I finally got to play, and oh man is it awesome (and really fuckin' creepy). From what we get to play, I say its not that much diferent from shooters in the past, but then we only get to play with 2 plasmids (I didn't even try the fire one, and didn't use the guns much either) and I can see a lot of potential in the way the plasmids can be used (like the stuff you see in videos and trailers), I loved frying the splicers in the water. The enviroment is stunning and there is a lot of attention to detail (you can even flush the toilets!), its also really dark which adds to the creepyness (although it does hide some of the amazing looking scenery).
I can't wait until the 24th, I can't really afford it, but tomorrow I'm deffinately going to pre-order the collector's edition.
It's incredibly cinematic.
The entire presentation is amazing and feels like something with immense production values. Every little thing is done right and feels right. The level of polish is incredible.
I can't wait to see it how it looks on PC.
Does that mean you are getting two?
I only got to play it for about 5 mins so far, enough to hop in the elevator and watch the beginning of the video clip in there, but I was already AMAZED by what I had seen. I knew that this was the start of something good when I entered the first room in the tower and the lights flickered on to reveal that angry statue looming over me with the words "No God, No Kings, Only Man." on it. I look forward to being creeped out by this game when I get home.
Just pre-ordered the collectors's edition, and now I'm going to bed.
just to use my store i work at as an example....my store is a puny EB games, we don't get much traffic there...but still our store itself has over 100 reservations of Halo 3, but for bioshock i believe we only have somewhere around 10. Just there's SO much hype about Halo 3, that's what everyone thinks. "Halo 3.....OMGGGG....GOING TO BE THE BEST SHOOTER EVER." So a lot of great games are overshadowed and under appreciated by most consumers. Unfortunately I believe Bioshock will be one. It will still sell over a million copies, but not nearly to the scale of Halo 3.
