Just there's SO much hype about Halo 3, that's what everyone thinks. "Halo 3.....OMGGGG....GOING TO BE THE BEST SHOOTER EVER." So a lot of great games are overshadowed and under appreciated by most consumers. Unfortunately I believe Bioshock will be one. It will still sell over a million copies, but not nearly to the scale of Halo 3.
Sounds like the story of System Shock 2.

Seems like there is a way to unlock hard mode.

    EDIT:
Hard mode is so much harder than the other modes. In easy, the enemies are easy to kill and there are lots of supplies. In normal, the enemies are still easy to kill, but supplies seem harder to come by (especially "eve"). In hard mode, again supplies are hard to come by, but this time the enemies seem about twice as hard to kill (the splicer at the start takes four hits of the wrench instead of two, also the shock and hit combo that works so well in other modes isn't as reliable, instead of the hit killing the instantly it might just do some damage and then unstun them, which is bad considering you are at close range).

My thoughts exactly. Bioshock isn't an unknown game, and with the awesome reviews it has been getting... It has some serious hype with good reasons. Just check out the pc gamer review... My god! This is really going to be something out of the ordinary.

halo 3 comes out next month...and that's not long at all. Like i said, bioshock isn't an unknown game, but not nearly known to the scale of halo 3. There's way more hype about halo 3 than any other game out there right now. That and i believe GTA IV.

I guess I simply don't mingle with the mainstream gamers... Me and my buddies all hold our thumbs waiting for Fallout 3. But still, I am not sure. PC gamers, like me, will completely ignore Halo 3 until it's announced to be released on computer so Bioshock definitely has a big advantage there.

I guess we have our GOTY.

I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

Heres something to try, load up the demo and from the menu select demo, it then asks you to adjust the slider so that the dark grey bar is barely visible. Instead, move the slider all the way to the right. Sur it messes with the lighting effects and make the particle effect look really weird, and makes the demo a lot less creepy, but it brightens up the game a lot and allows you to see just how much detail was put into the enviroment. For example, the moment you step out of the bathy sphere, you are able to see just how well the bathy terminal is (which is normally really dark and pitch black in some places) the same applies to most of the areas, particularly the area where you first get a plasmid. You'll also notice there are a lot of murals on all the walls as you play, something you normally don't notice when you play normally. Playing with the brightness up shows you just how much care and attention is put into the levels.
